Yea Mame spider definetly inspired me in this video and also If I remember correctly I did try the hulk thing and it didn’t work. I am not that great with Hulk but I just remember not being able to get him to come out and do the gamma wave fast enough after the normal air combo. I never tested it off a throw before though.
I wasn’t able to do it after a regular combo but I was only able to get a relaunch if I XFC the :l: Gamma Wave off a forward or back throw.
Oo disregard this combo, it was working for me the other day against some chars but i was doing some tests yesterday on smaller characters and apparently it is not reliable, drops. The combo actually works all the time against everybody with the Molecular Shield assist for Doom, so Molecular shield can actually be better for Thor than Plasma beam. The same combo works with other AAA assists like Vajra (looks very flashy btw), Log trap, Jam session, etc. For Frank shopping cart and Akuma Tatsu Thor has to cancel the superjump into Mighty Spark M, there is no enough hitstun to make the fully charged strike H work.

Nice video. I need to think of ways to get thor in the corner ‘mid combo’ somehow… I saw it in another video recently. That’s the trick to getting max damage off mighty thunder if you want the kill. Otherwise keep them there for the lock down/mixup.
I’m having trouble extending Thor’s combos of Dante’s Crystal assist. Anybody know some good Thor/Dante combos? I also use Sentential if that helps.

After the obligatory Charged Mighty Strike M(grounded), what do I do if they blocked that?
What are my options aside from J. L while coming down?
I know that I, in theory, can airdash down
and Mighty Hurricane someone who stays grounded a little too long, but I
need to practice that to be consistent with it, so is there anything else I can do?
strike M is a weak way to welcome a character
Yeah, I’ve learned that the hard way. Seems decent at first…until the opponent realizes they can scoop you for free afterwards. Even if you tech, it’s back into neutral so…yeah, avoid doing that if possible.
I’ll keep that in mind from now on.

Incoming mixups without backup, there’s a couple.
Main go to ones are just doing Mighty Spark H, if they don’t pushblock, you have a free Mighty Punish the second they touch the ground. If they do, at least you’re safe.
For an actual mixup, c.H into Full Charge Mighty Strike H. Ambiguous crossup that goes into full combo (though a tricky one if you actually do get the crossup).
solo options on incoming characters
you read the other character, then:
- if you know there will be a double jump / airdash up, you superjump and grab
- guard breaks… (best option)
- j.L, j.M, j.S, j.Mighty Strike M, s.Mighty Smash M works on people mashing buttons
- the cr.H, mighty strike, i think its good… but im not a fan
- you wait until the character land and either grab in the ground or predict a jump and grab in the air, simple but works lol
i have yet to see a use for Mighty Spark on incoming characters, mighty speech recovers too slowly as for allowing the ground dash before of the advancing guard, advancing guard completely beats mighty spark guard break setups
It’s not the best option, but when you just want a safe option, it’s not terrible. At the least they’re still in front of you when you H Spark.
But I’m going to be blunt, Thor’s solo options on incoming are extremely mediocre other than his H Strike crossup but a lot of characters have that options without the possibility of your combo getting screwed up, and I say this after extensive playing of him without neutral assists or help. The only time his stuff is really good is when the opponent likes mashing buttons, and they stop doing that after the first time.
If you want good Thor incoming options, you need assists to help him. It seems pretty non-negotiable at this point.
I have Dark Hole assist, does that help at all?
Uh, well it’s not bad, but I can’t think of anything too terribly fancy. Ask Duck, he runs Thor/Dorm.
Finally figured out how to get a consistent triple Mighty Tornado combo in the corner with a otg assist.
combo… -> dash(ie. MH)+otg assist, tk.h.spark - as soon as spark hits cancel to Mighty Tornado. Afterwards you m.smash and before you hit the ground -> cancel to Mighty Hurricane then l.smash cancel as soon as you make contact to Mighty Tornado. Sometimes you get a float state after that (not sure of the conditions).
One, it’s Mighty Tornado. Mighty Hurricane is the Command Grab.
Second, you’re right for the start. OTG assist + TK H Spark into Tornado. Then M Mighty Smash and right when you hit the Ground Bounce you do Tornado. Then do ANOTHER M Mighty Smash but cancel into Tornado on the first hit. The first hit of Smash is unaffected by HSD so both hits can hit normally.
My bad I somehow get the two mixed all the time.
