Quick question:

What would do you guys use as a follow up after the FADC for c.lk, c.lp, c.hp > lk slash FADC… in a 2 meter combo.

EX Tatsu > U1 (corner)

TC2 XX HP SRK

I would do crouching strong, crouching fierce xx roundhouse tatsu at that point. If the pushback is too great, then substitute TC2 for the crouching strong and fierce. Or you can do crouching fierce xx roundhouse tatsu for 6 less damage and more stun.

Hello fellow Oni players and enthusiasts! I was in the lab training/breaking in Oni, and I’m not sure that it’s been mentioned or not (and if it has please pardon my blunder and disregard my post), but since Oni can’t normally Tatsu into Shoryuken, there’s always an air Tatsu into Shoryuken. Does 2 hits in the corner, 3 hits if ending with EX Shoryuken (works only in corner).

There’s also air Tatsu>EX Tatsu>U1 (works only in corner; does 9 hits whether shot straight forward or straight upward), or air Tatsu>EX Tatsu>U2 (works only in corner, does 12 hits)

***Again if this has been mentioned already, then my apologies. It may not seem as much, but could come in handy perhaps? ***

MK tatsu will probably do more damage at that range.

MP shoryuken does 3 hits also. And you can also do Full U2 from it. Basically: Yeah, it’s known.

Is it really possible to link crouching strong from LK slash fadc? I’m not hitting it.

Yes, but it’s a 2 frame link.

Set the dummy to auto-block. If the strong gets blocked, it’s being done too late. If it doesn’t come out, you’ve pushed the button too early.

Oni’s dash is pretty slow (18 frames), so wait until you see the dash finish.

lp,lp,lp,mp,h-tatsu for 181 damage is mentioned in at least 2 posts. Should be replaced by lp,lp,lp,mp,m-tatsu for 211 dmg and 300 stun. Not that it is a very useful combo, but whenever h-tatsu can only hit twice, it should be replaced by m-tatsu.

Has anyone tried going in to training room and hitting a simple FADC xx ultra 1 on Yun? Man this shit is crazy, I get ex-hcb fireballs, ex dp, ex fireballs and only if I delay my timing alot more compared to on other characters the ultra actually comes out. Same thing happens if you try to do a DP FADC xx tatsu/groundstomp.

Feels like Oni is truly getting screwed over by the input leniency in SF4 f,d,df,f after a fadc 99% of the time gives me a MK slash when im trying to go for the MK ground stomp juggle.

I know it’s not a problem with my inputs as I’ve done plenty of fadc ultras over 4 years.

His shortcuts are so dumb. Half the time I try to do a ground smash I get demon slash, and half the time I ex demon slash for ultra 1 I get an ex shoryuken and waste my meter. :I

I find that doing the crouching SRK shortcut in lieu of the proper motion prevents the slash because there’s no forward input. I really don’t like doing doing that shortcut because it doesn’t work in other games.

The ultra thing is just a timing issue. You’re probably inputting the ultra to early and negative edging the SRK. It’s either that or you’re not ending completely inputting the ultra.

For srk > fadc > u1 just do qcb, qcf instead of qcf x2. Oni seems to get to the other side of his opponent briefly after the fadc dash so you have to compensate.

man if this actually works more consistent than just waiting a few frames, im going to be both happy that there is a consistent method and mad with capcom for being soooo sloppy.
I was hoping they would remove the input shortcuts for AE. at least a option to turn it off

Def sticking with cr:lk:cr:lp:cr:hp xx :lk:Slash for now.
I just like being able to force the stand.

i just found my new main since u can hit confirm into both ultras full animation for both.
do crlp, stlp, bmp, hp, mk tatsu, focus attack lv2 on the first hit, and do the ultra of your choice.
I did bmp, hp, focus lv2 into ultra 2 for 461 dmg :slight_smile:

What are you guys doing for blockstrings? Against non-grapplers do you feel comfy ending with lk.slash and being -2 or do you opt for a fireball ender (assuming you aren’t choosing to go for an EX.palm or EX.slash mixup)?

Ok I tested this again and it looks like if you combo into srk from point blank then you need to do the qcb, qcf motion, but if you combo into it from like a max range TC2 for example then you can do the qcf x2 motion.
