I am not talking the Plaza, I mean way further up Reisterstown Road, pass Pikesville and Owings Mills where the street changes names to Main Street and you are in Reisterstown proper.
The best store bought ice cream I ever had was 2nd Street Creamery. Specifically Copper Kettle Caramel and Can’t Tell Me No! Cookie Dough. Talenti caramel and B&J cookie dough, for example, were complete trash compared to 2nd Street. Tragically nobody seemed to notice this brand existed, and it was discontinued a couple years ago.
I highly recommend making your own ice cream, though. For chocolate I basically use this recipe:
My version is altered, but not enough to bother explaining in exact detail. I do stress the importance of using dutch cocoa instead of natural cocoa like Hershey’s. I use Valrhona, and trust me, it’s worth it. I also use more like a heaping 1/2 cup of it instead of an exact measurement. If you need an ice cream maker recommendation, get the Cuisinart ICE-21.
Necrotrophic is half right here, Ben and Jerry’s is normally made with Milk.
There non-dairy versions for those who are ether lactose intolerant, have milk allergies or decide to be vegan for what ever purpose.
The “Milk” that has estrogen in it is Soy Milk, not milk from any Mammal.
There is no Estrogen or Puss in Cows Milk. Stop reading PETA propaganda.
Any milk with puss in it is discarded right away and the cows get treated for the infection.
Those cows are also pulled from Milk production till their infection is cleared and the Antibiotics are out of their system
The whole puss in milk thing is a huge misnomer because the uneducated confuse Somatic Cell Count (white blood cells) for puss.
All Mammals pass on their immunizes via their milk, and a lower Somatic Cell Count (SCC) is ideal as the Cow in good health.
If a Cow (or other dairy animal) has elevated SCC counts in their milk, they are examined for any illnesses.
If an udder reaches the stage of puss, you are fighting to keep the animal alive. The udder has long given up milk production.
“During the last couple of years, increasing body of evidence are indicating another property of hormones in dairy products as possible impact on human health including the role of some estrogens and insulin-like growth factor-1 in initiation and provoking of breast, prostate and endometrial tumours.”
Results:
The collected data from other researchers and our own data are indicating that the presence of steroid hormones in dairy products could be counted as an important risk factor for various cancers in humans.
Conclusion:
Our gathered data in this review paper may suggest more sophisticate analytical detection methods for oestrogens determination and also could be considered as a remarkable concern for consumers, producers and public health authorities.
“So how much pus is there in a glass of milk? Not much. A million cells per spoonful sounds like a lot, but pus is really concentrated. According to my calculations* based on USDA data released last month, the average cup of milk in the United States would not be expected to contain more than a single drop of pus.”
Thats still a lot to me. I’d prefer none. I don’t want any pus.
Nobody gives a shit about soy. The picture I posted was almond based. Stop dragging shit from other threads into everything.
The mods are pretty clear about this and I think I’ve been pretty patient with you. Not every thread needs to be about how you don’t like communism and veganism when you see me post. shut up.
