Recently went to nashville Tennessee on business/vacation and visited this place called Jeni’s which is supposedly known for their ice-cream.
I’ve never left an ice-cream parlor so happy and filled with wonderment as I left jeni’s. The staff lets you try every flavor, and fills you in on what’s in what and how it’s made. They’re also super nice. The ice cream flavors themselves are really weird and a total departure from the norm, but there still RIDICULOUSLY good.
I had a flavor called WildBerry Lavender with another called Brambleberry Crisp & finally some Pineapple flavor to top it all off. For toppings I went traditional with some good ol’whip cream.
Generally my favorite ice cream flavor is chocolate. I think my favorite flavors are BR’s chocolate fudge and chocolate mousse royale, along with B&J’s chocolate brownie fudge.
Aside from chocolate, I think my favorite is Trader Joe’s pumpkin ice cream. They’re seasonal which kinda sucks, but at least it’s something else to look forward to during the Thanksgiving/Christmas season
Salt & Straw has 2 epic flavors that are always available (they do a lot of crazy seasonal flavors like corn on the cob).
Almond Brittle with Salted Ganache + Salted, Malted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough on a waffle cone is the GOAT. I’m always like the slowest eater, but I practically inhale this stuff. It’s just that good.
Ice Cream sandwiches. Best. Thing. Ever. - End Thread.
I know this sounds horrible but, a bad habit i had a while back:
Get drunk and stay drunk. All day. That means 1-3 shots of hard liquor every couple of hours. While playing Videogames and eating Ice cream sandwiches all day long.
So awesome…but i had to stop. Too much.
Not picky about the brand either. The cheap-o store brand will do.
I’ve been hitting up those tubs of mudslide lately. So good.
We have a local frozen custard joint called Caliche’s where I live, just a few blocks from my house. They mix in toppings in with either chocolate or vanilla custard. The Straw-Ana has fresh strawberries and bananas, the Fudge Brownie Bliss has brownie chunks mixed in with hot fudge sauce (I usually add caramel, too), the Mint de Caliche blends chocolate chips, Oreos, and a mint sauce (I usually add caramel), and there’s so many more. My favorite is called the Gizmo. Mixed custard with hot fudge and caramel, salted pecans, and a cherry on top. It’s dangerous living so close to that joint.
