I really suck at comboing

In a previous post I linked an audio recording of what the button presses sound like … maybe hearing that will help?

for the cr.lk (x3) xx lk.SK you can use a metronome (you can probably google search a page that has one or get an ipod app), find the right tempo on the metronome at which the lks link and use it as a basis until it becomes muscle memory and it is consistent. i forget what the exact tempo is but i think it might be in the 160 range.

Great advice. Can someone please find the exact metronomical value of the Bison 3x scissor kick?

This would be a great way to practice this hell-move.

I suggest you start play Bison mirror, it help you improve.

I was way way weak and don’t know how to block and act totaly noob/scrub, since most bison mirror have good dynamic and pretty much SAME option after scissor…those match do help, you learn how to block right first, then you can worry about combo.

I think defense>offense, but some people have those crazy idea to rush…just need to be more consistent and punish accordingly…
practice c.lp x3 c.lk x1 into scissor, once you nail it, do the c.lk x2
then finally do c.lk x3…
I am still only able to do c.lk x2 now, 3 and 4 are hard, but they are HARD for an reason, SHOTO can’t mash out (almost impossible if you nail the timing right)
c.lk x3 scissor cancel c.lk x3 scissor, this is hardest but can’t mash out combo if you did it, and guaranteed damage…no more bait, no more drop, just straight combo they can’t do anything but just watch.
when bison have guaranteed damage yes he have end game power now…AOI momo did that once to daigo that burn the image in my eye:
daigo was mashing that sht out but no success, what the nightmare to mashing shoto…

c.lk x3 is as hard as claw (vega) c.lp…

Look people, cr lk x3 isn’t rocket science. Just get in the training room and find the timing. It’s not a one frame, it’s a two frame. It’s doable. You don’t need to use a metronome or anything fancy. You just need to find the timing. If your opponent/training dummy blocks, you dropped it. If it doesn’t come out, you pressed it too fast. It’s a rhythm. Find it! Once you do it’s easy to remember, practice and master.

Here’s a video I just made showing how to do cr. lk x 4 into scissors and cr. lk x3 into scissors. I I did a few more combos just for fun.

The biggest problem in any fighting game is timing IMO. Especially if you’re used to other, faster paced games. Best thing I can say is practice. It can get frustrating, especially with muscle memory.

Glad I found this community BTW. A lot of game communities tend to be dicks to new players.

Wow, thanks man.

I’ve been practicing for about a month now and I still can’t do the 3 links properly. Bought new buttons but that didn’t help… Oh well, I’ll just hit the training stage every time I log on… I can do it 1/5 times in training, and 0/100 times in real matches =(.

No problem. I hope it helped – if you’re on PSN, send me a firend invite (I’ll send you my PSN name through private message).

GREATEST post ever. NO ONE ever told me this.

the crouching punches seem to go fastish then the cr lk’s seem to go a touch slower and the hardest thing of all linking a scissors kick… well hope for the best. you’ve got to to it to a beat!

I start mashing a little and pressing too fast in pressure games too! I go to endless battle and try to practice remaining calm and controlled, no matter if I f this game up I will not stary furiously tapping the buttons hoping for a miricle.

I strill struggle with it, but practicing in endless and on not so great players can help you control and get it to the point where you can do it under pressure. Im not there yet but getting there. I saw 5 hit combo flash up on my screen for pretty much first time other night and getting it more and more now.

Is there a ranking on easiest/most useful bison combos.

I can do two crouching lk’s into scissors and
2 crouching light punches one crouching light kick scissors.
medium punch ex scissors.
one medium kick link medium scissors.

Im never going to be the amazing combo guy though but if anyone knows another easy but useful one that I could pick up feel free to tell me. Did a bit of a look around on combos alot of the stuff I see doesn’t feel practical to me, I would certainly drop the cr lks into scissors and, it’s just best to do the stuff I can 7/10 then mucking around trying to nail people with amazing combos, at least for me.

ON the plus side, I think my spacing, use of normals, pokes, judgements on air moves and mix ups is GOOD, the advantages if there is such a thing is you kind of improve in other areas as it’s needed.

I

Crouching light kick is all about timing, practice until you can blind hit (turn the video off and see if is 3 hit damage on training, I doing it like so many times)
YOU GOT TO BE ABLE TO DO IT close eye, with out sound…perfect stage is you can do it while talking to people and look away, yeah you got to practice that much to drop the mistake rate for just this move.

why this move is so important? because in high lv play, this move almost grant you enormous POWAHH that nothing can be mash during the combo.
what is that mean? A GUARANTEED DAMAGE, you know how hard in high lv play for Guaranteed damage? sometime whole game for bison, maybe 2, maybe 1, maybe never( you can’t even get in, yes it happen, or you can’t get even AFTER you get in, Either losing TIME/SPACE/HP)

if you got 3 and 1/2 bar, 1st combo cancel gonna make you some more, and you can cancel again, beautiful you just finish your enemy.

watch the very end of the game, daigo try to mash it but it will not work…ok maybe because is online…

hit and run and defensive/counter is what bison very good at, let them come :stuck_out_tongue:

I learned to link cr. lks by its sound. If I can’t hear the TV then I’m screwed - good thing I have ultra sonic hearing lol.
