I need help! And a pony! The Deadpool Team Thread!

So I’ve been trying some stuff out in the lab and I’ve been wondering something… Which is a better assist for Doom to help out DP - Hidden Missiles or Plasma Beam? I’ve been going back and forth between the two and wanted some opinions on which is better to assist the merc with a mouth.

Wedge, do you have any tips for getting that rescale glitch? I absolutely can’t do it…

@Mjolnir it totally depends on how you want to play and what your other character is because they offer up different options. You can rush down more and control things a bit easier with doom beam (it’s stupid good). Missiles gives you great lockdown for zoning and double hyper combos and various other things, but there is no reason for missiles with say strider on your team.

Just play doom beam no matter what.

I don’t play Doom Beam with my hulk/Deadpool/Doom team and that does just fine

I play Modok/Deadpool and I’m wondering if I should put Deadpool on point. I have him second so Modok has a reliable low/unblockable through quick work. If I put Deadpool on point Im not sure what assist I should use to help Him where his weaker points are or is the beam assist my best bet

what exactly is the synergy with Deadpool / Strider?

I know DP can pick up off of Vajra, but is that the only reason this shell is so good? Anything else?

The frustration of trying to catch Deadpool with vajra gives me a headache. His nuetral game would be nuts! especially if you had a strong horizontal presence. The incoming mix ups would be slimey too

Space control ,extension, conversions, that’s about it, yeah, but more than enough.

Check my channel for deadpool/strider tech. I’ve played it for the majority of ultimate. Just be forewarned, your strider has to be stupid good and you need a second character with meter positive combos.

Synergy / extensions with Jam Session?

Hey fellow mercs. Just got back from Costa Rica. Fucking fabulous. While I’ve been gone on my vacation and in general, I’ve tried to level up my Doom so I’m still trying to see what I can get outta my DP/Doom/Ammy team. Though I’m still losing a bunch trying out new characters and whatnot, I’ve also started to get a lot of wins too which is nice for a change lol Anyways while I’ve been in the lab, I was thinking of a few other DP teams and I wanted your opinions on them. Some ideas I had included:

DP-α/Doom-α or β/Nova-β
DP May Cry (DP-α/Dante-α/Vergil-γ)
DP-α/Dante-α/Ammy-β
DP-α/X-23-β/Dante-α
DP-α/Doom-β/Dr. Strange-γ (Team Triple D’s)
DP-α/Dante-α/Nova-β
DP-α/Magneto-α/Ammy-β (Team “X-Ray minus the Dante”… lol kinda rhymes…)

Mind you these aren’t teams I’m planning to try and/or learn (aside from maybe one or two) but this is merely something to open up some healthy debate on the matter of these teams and their synergy and usefulness as teams. Welp… Back to the lab lol

I personally don’t like any team with anchor nova. It’s too nutty to me. Also Nova to Deadpool DHCs aren’t too strong.
DP may cry just another may cry team.

For X-23 I’d probably use Katanarama assist for good pick-ups and combo extension.

DP/Doom/Strange is pretty good team I don’t have much to say about it really.

Mag/Dp/Ammy would probably be a better order depending on the match-up.

So, what exactly do people have with Deadpool/Bolts? I don’t really know how to be dirty with them, and Deadpool/Taskmaster/Bolts sounds fun as hell.

Deadpool (a) / Dorm (a) / Doom (a/b) … or
Deadpool (a) / Doom (a/b) / Vergil (rapid slash)

^ This man has the right idea. Most notably the second one. Pick the top tiers.

I’m gonna be that guy.

Iron Man is a generally underrated character (he’s not a sleeper top tier or even non-flawed character by any stretch, but he is not nearly as bad as people think) and Unibeam is an excellent assist for Deadpool. You’ve got to put in a ton of work to make Tony work, but if you’re looking for a neutral partner for Deadpool Iron Man is great. Doesn’t hurt that Deadpool guns super into Proton Cannon is a high damage DHC from anywhere on screen.

Shooting guns and just calling a high durability beam is really effective, and Unibeam’s high blockstun makes mixups that are normally janky and punishable at best (guns xx teleport, M Quick Work xx Teleport) into safe attack strings. You can also use Unibeam as a combo extender in combos that end with OTG teleport explosion by calling it before malfunction OTG. It doesn’t do a huge amount more damage but its pretty noticeable increase.

if i go dante/deadpool/magneto,what the best deadpool assist for dante?

What’s everyone’s thought on DP/Dante/Strider? Been trying it out a bit here and there and gotta say I’ve been liking it so far. My Strider’s shit but I’m hoping to fix 'im up with time in the lab haha

I tried DP/Dante/Strider for like 2 or 3 weeks. It was okay, but the only problem was it lacked damage and wasn’t meter positive enough to make Strider anchor work. However the mixup and zoning potential was huge, but Dante wasn’t really my style.

What you have to do is reset with Deadpool in order to conserve meter for strider. Zone and lock down with guns and jam session. All of your combos should end in a teleport explosion to make sure you keep your teleports fresh, or a reset into another combo. You can get 615k damage meterless and build a bar using 2 teleports and 1 explosion in a combo. You get crazy high/low/throw mixups during and after the opponent is in blockstun from jam sesh so be sure to abuse that. Keep strider calls to a minimum for Deadpool unless you’re using them to make guns to teleport safe, which still should be done at a minimum.

As Dante your main goal would also be to reset as much as possible rather than use meter. Strider NEEDS those 3 meters at the end of the match. Stinger > Call strider > bold cancel > teleport is a really strong L/R and H/L mixup if you incorporate your airdash well. If you opt to put Dante on point rather than Deadpool, you can get some high/low mixups using the quickwork assist that are pretty solid- people don’t normally expect assists to hit low; quickwork is one of the few assists that does. I would also suggest learning Dante’s TAC infinite in the corner if possible. Nobody really has it as solid as most people do the doom infinite, but if someone can TAC infinite with dante, they’d have enough meter for strider to go nuts with orbs and then could be more liberal with their meter usage.

The team has potential to be solid, but it requires optimizing every combo and having some sick predictions and resets to build enough meter to make the team effective.
