What are some suggested assists? I’m torn between Mortuary Drop, Standard throw, and St.MK. Currently running Painwheel/Parasoul/Valentine
I wouldnt recomend St. MK cause anyone ducking if use in a block string can punish her and you if your not careful. Mortuary drop and basic throw are both good. If your going for mix up i would suggest jumping mp. it comes down at an angel and it hits crouching opponents. So you can pretty much make unblockable setups with Painwheel or Parasoul.
What do I do against Filias Instant Air-dash abuse?

You can’t use jumping attacks for assists, nor can you create unblockable setups in skullgirls. The only assists you can use are standing or crouching normals or specials.
I prefer st.mk or her projectile to mortuary drop and here’s why:

St.mk’s major pro is one of it’s major cons as well, however it creates an uneven mixup for your point character. If they block high you are free to hit them low, if they block low you can hit them high, if they decide to crouch block to make st.mk whiff you can throw them since throws cannot be teched while crouching and since almost all throws are super cancelable in skullgirls this leads to guarenteed damage.
EDIT: While mortuary drop seems gimmicky, slow to come out and has terrible recovery.

If you want something that will keep people in place for Painwheel mixups, cr.mk and st.mk are both multiple hits. If you want to have an anti-air, her st.hk is insanely good because it has a great hitbox.

Depends on the team composition. Filia has 3 assists worth noting for Valentine: hairball, cr.mk, and jab updo. Jab Updo does a really good job of getting people off of her back, cr.mk is a solid anti air plus it is multiple hits so it leaves them in place for a mix up, hairball is the least useful but it also does provide an additional way of locking people in place plus gives you a move to add to combos. I am a huge proponent of jab updo because 5 out of a cast of 8 characters have to get in your ass to hurt you.
Looks like you need a combo extender assist. Try HP Dead Cross. Lots of hitstun benefits both Painwheel and Parasoul. cr.MP also makes for an excellent assist (it’s what I personally use), comes out fast, occasionally crosses up, and makes a great alpha counter that hit confirms into full combo.
I’m thinking of using Fillia with Valentine and Parasoul. So it would be ideal to use Cr.Mk with her since I can just Napalm Pillar people to death yes?
Its kinda funny that a lot of question are about Filia when I am more or less dropping that bitch like the worst habit ever. The thing about it is the custom assists in the game is they’ll help you do severely different stuff. If you want an assist that will force people into place, st.HK will do it since they’ll have to super jump away from that. It’ll also helps your footsies and a really weird way since the negative frames from the regular attack do not impact the point character. Cr. mk with Filia and Valentine do 3 really weird things: 1) They introduce a random low attack into a string, 2) they help set up throws since you have to stand to tech, 3) they laugh at your opponent’s trip guard if they are IAD incorrectly.
I definitely have not tried cr.mp as an assist or the use of alpha counters in the game and what you get form them. So by all means try out duckie’s shit. It just so happens that for my play style, calling that Valentine st. hk is super gravy because I can use it offensively and defensively. Play with the options to see which one you like best, netcode is stupid good.
Guess I’ll just stick with Peacock since Fillia is ass XD
Filia has dat ass, but she’s not ass. In fact, I can’t think of a single character who isn’t good in this game, just misunderstood. Watch some of Brandino’s matches from PowerUp and you’ll see some amazingly sexy resets. His Filia is very effective. I’m looking forward to fighting him again at SB Summer Slam.
And I’m not the only believer in Valentine’s cr.MP as assist, it was actually recommended to me by Mike Z after I complained about Valentine’s assists.
I tried brocacho but I just CANNOT watch those matches due to skisonics voice makes it almost impossible.

In other news, whats so amazing about Cr.MP as an assist? I am partial to St.MK and Her command throw.
Well, everything depends on what you’re trying to accomplish with it, and who you’re using it with. I use Double, who has good chains but her normals lack range (save for st.HP), and cr.MP helps me continue pressure by putting them in hitstun long enough for a crossup dash, or makes certain things safe on block when I don’t have meter for Catellite. It’s also a competent anti-air, and it occasionally crosses up.
My big gripe with st.MK is it can be ducked too easily. Yes, it keeps your opponent pinned down for a long time, but it’s too easy to punish. I don’t like Mortuary Drop because of how situational its usage is, and especially how long the recovery is on it on whiff. I don’t even use it with Valentine on point unless it’s a guaranteed hit. Besides, Double’s normal grab is already amazing enough as it is.
Would Double/Val/Para be a good team cause the two aforementioned characters can benefit form Parasoul’s assist? I was thinking of just adding Val to my existing “SoulCock”(lol) team.
I don’t see why not. Most of the time you’ll either end up with Para or Double as anchor which they’re both solid at. Might as well put Double at the booty assist so you have 2 assists to wreck people with after you CSC (DHC) in Val. The only issue is not having the safest CSC between Double and Val (only safe if you CSC from mid to long range into Val’s Jojo’s/scalpel super).
If you’re worried about not having a safe way to get Val in and don’t want to get her blown up…then you can always just go the MVC2 route and burn 3 meters to get Parasoul in (where Double would be second and Para anchor). Better to be safe and low on meter than sorry with meter).
I’m sure Double’s cat head super could provide some solid opportunities for safer tag ins any ways. The safest tag in always to just find a way to hit them and then CSC.
