OK, so this topic is now about finding a printer for my PC. The problem is, I don’t know which printer is good for me. Web sites are not always reliable.
I’m looking for an all-in-one inkjet printer for my PC that has Windows XP 64-bit. Does anyone know which printers are supported?
There is no such a printer that can work miracles in you operating system that has 64-bit, they are all the same when it comes to function and they all work with all the computers and operating systems.
Choose a brand, check their website and you will find the one that suites your needs and since you have Windows then rest assured that every printer in the world today will work with it without any problem and you don’t have to search for the drivers over the internet, finally there no cheap printer that is better than an expensive one if that what you are looking for.

What do you want to use it for is the first question you have to ask yourself, then start looking at what’s available in your price range.
HP and Canon brands are your best bet.
For pictures Epson. Mixed Canon. 98% text - go HP. Though Canon also reproduces text great and I’m not up to date on office with Epson. But with pictures they stayed No. 1.

I’m going to be using the printer mostly for printing documents, but I also want to be able to scan images.
I tried checking out the HP website for printers, but they don’t specify which versions of XP are supported. I don’t want to make the same mistake of buying an unsupported printer.
I had my eye on the HP F4180, but I don’t think it supports XP x64 (Vista x64 is supported, though).
If you aren’t sure, give HP a ring.
Problem is that with everyone but Canon, they practically give away their printers and then rape you on the ink cartridges.
I use a Canon MP530, and couldn’t be happier. It does everything I need it to, and more.
One minor issue is they don’t have CD printing ability in the US, but they do still physically do. You need to buy a tray from Europe, and then use a trick to set it so the printer thinks it’s European (a region select cheat, if you will). After that, you’re set.
Previously, I had an MP500, and it did much the same thing.
Just another angle to consider…
Why the hell would they remove CD-R printing in the US? I never knew that.
So, it appears that the HP F4180 does support x64…they have drivers for it on their site. Looks like my search is over, finally.

i really like my Canon Pixma iP4200 - it uses individual Black, Cyan, Yellow, and Magenta carts and they are transparent so you can actually see how much ink is in them.
I haven’t tried it but I bet they would be great for those ink refill kits, too.
All right, so now I’m having more issues.
I got the F4180 printer, but now my PC doesn’t recognize it. No error messages or anything. I tried talking to HP online support, and they said to reinstall the USB ports, but that’s not doing it. What else can I do at this point? I hope I didn’t waste my money on another printer that I can’t use…I even checked the requirements beforehand and I was good to go. Help me, SRK! :sad:
I’m not sure how much or how little you’re looking to spend. It does sound like you’re looking for a higher-end model with more bells and whistles, and maybe even a flute. Just in case you’re aiming lower though, I believe that Lexmark’s entry level printers typically perform much better than anything else in that price range. (I don’t have a clue about their more expensive ones.)
I wouldn’t touch a Lexmark with a barge pole. In my experience, the majority are cheap & nasty, they feel flimsy and the software drivers are horrible*.
*With the exeception of their high-end laser printers which aren’t bad.
