i use hawkeye’s full zoning potential and people talk crap to me because of it
i should be used to it by now since i made people rage while using arthur in vanilla
I’ve had people rage at me for my Dormammu zoning. Now that I’m pairing the two up. Guess I’ll be expecting more.
Standing M is good to start a combo as well. That arrow slap has good range.
Trick shot L into poison tip ASAP is a good way to make some space in the area directly infront of you, as well as f.m
this is standard stuff but hawkeye has so many tools i forget about f.m sometimes
My issue with Hawkeye personally is when he gets rushed down it’s like I’m not sure which attack I should go to. I normally try to slide but I windup getting hit lol
Just cancel the Slide into Trick Shot L or H into Rusty Nail if they block.
It’s more so against characters like Firebrand or X23. That’s my only issue with him atm.
Any1 using Hawkeye with Frank West?
anyone else think hawkeye is like the marvel version of arthur
and by that i mean the basic form of a keep away character
he’s not some weird lockdown/trap hybrid character he’s just a simple keep away character that shoots arrows at you
which i like because while being a fan of zoning/ranged characters i don’t like using characters that require me to just place traps around the board
i can try to use characters like that but i usually end up failing hard and going back to the standard form of keep away
I do my main team is Frank Rocket Raccoon and Hawkeye. I like the Triple Shot assist for mix ups with the roll but idk if you can combo off his arrows that well. The other assists don’t really help either except mostly for getting in.
Also, he’s got one of the best air-to-air normals in the game in jumping :h:.And if you can land an air throw, you can trick shot into Poison Tip for chip damage, or Freeze Shot for a quick combo.
For me it’s like what do you do when your opponent is pressuring you and they’re up close. I run into this situation a lot and it’s like I’ll try to hit them with with crouching L and I get in trouble lol
New hawkeye loop: H Spritzer Loop
Corner only and xf3 specific and requires oppenent to be at maximum regular jump height
Jump H (2hits) into spritzer
The timing is the least of your worries its gettin them at the proper height which is peak jump height thats the difficult part. Now if your oppenent likes pressing buttons when there charecter comes in then u just have a free charecter kill. It works off of a Jumping H confirm when you still have xfactor. It hits 19 times and does 932k and it saves valuable xfactor time compared to the net loop.
Its not easy to land or setup but at the same time if you land it you just killed a charecter quickly. It also can be option selected into his throw. Im still experimenting with using this as a possible air block string/guard break similar to what marlinpie does with viper i will return to update when i have more information.
So at level 2 you can get like 2-3 reps of it but it wont chain after that but the damage is still good enough to kill anyone if you follow it into a full combo
Somebody tell me the secret to Hawkeye vs Teleporters,
PLEASE I BEG YE
i’'ll give you a cookie if you do.
Punishing is a combination of reaction and anticipation. If you think you can’t react to teleporting go into training more and practice firing gimlet on characters durign their teleporting animations.
People tend to teleport when they see no other way of getting in full without taking off their autopilot button. SO when you’re zoning full screen especially and keeping your opponent out learn to expect teleports and be ready to fire gimlet.
You have to recognize what the teleport animations look like before you can do anything. Most of the time you don’t need to fire gimlet since you can usually just throw people out of their teleports. When Dante teleports he will always end up in the air behind you. Vergil can either teleport right above your head or directly behind you, most online player will teleport behind you so you can just throw them for a combo. Strider will teleport overhead and if he does his teleport dive kick then just block the kick and throw him when he lands. Dorm will is pretty much the same thing, most online players will try to teleport behind you so you can just throw his ass if he tries to tri-dash in on you.
Honestly once you recognize the animations punishing teleports becomes extremely easy, especially dante since he has to crouch twice to teleport.
I think you were in a room I was in last night! Good Nemesis and Strider!
does poison damage always do 90k over time? like if you hit 2 poison arrows in a row does it lead to 180k?
edit: reading back in the thread someone mentioned that it seems like it resets the poison counter when the next one hits so if you do them in a row you’ll end up with less than 100k. it didn’t seem like a definite answer though.
Anyone got tips for dealing with enemies just spamming empty super jumps?
Against non-divekick characters:
- dash under, airthrow from behind
- dash under, jumpback H in back->triple arrow
- slide under, Trick Shot and fire arrow in their back
The best tool for zoners against superjumpers is move under them (which also has the benefit of un-cornering yourself). It’s very unintuitive for MVC2 players (because that strategy would be completely useless in any pre-MVC3 Marvel game), but (U)MVC3 SJs have virtually no steerability and you can’t turn around in the middle of them.
