It shows Gimlet is avoidable…in training mode. I’m sure few people, if anybody, will have the reflexes for that mid match.
anyways random gimlet early on is ok, but it best to really confirm the opp has pressed a button lol
Yeah, there’s very few people who can buffer a dash during a hyper freeze. o_O
I think the air throw is a grow bounce
The guide doesn’t mention anything about a ground bounce on any of the four throws
Okay guys i got a copy of the game yesterday and i put as much time that i had(i have a life lol) into hawkeye yesterday so im gonna share all that i learned in the short time i had in the lab plus random lobbies against other people. *note, im not that great execution wise so if you guys ask me to test things i may or may not be able to do it.
-Standing H is a Arrow shot that can be charged and can be special cancelled. However it cannot be chained into except from standing L. So for example L into H into triple arrow works but L, M into H will not.
-You cannot chain H standing or crouching, after M. So LMH will not work at all. Think vanilla Dorm. His Slide does chain however.
-Canceling into Arrows is not safe at all. I need to see frame data for every arrow to be sure but im 100% positive that triple arrow in unsafe. Hell i was getting blown up because im use to taskmaster arrows being safe after shield skills but slide into arrows is a sure way to lose half your health or more.
-Triple arrow is kinda high, i was punished by alot of the cast just because they ducked and attacked me with the arrows going over their head. Im not talking about small characters like ammy, dante hit me with crouching L when the arrows when over his head.

forward M(electric capsule) Otg’s but the distance has to be right. So launcher magic series and when you land throw the capsule->dash and S will connect into a full relaunch. This is also possible from his air throws. Its also A LOT easier than trick shot into ice arrow relaunch.

Hawkeye can otg by himself in the corner. You have to delay the S so you land on the ground asap then back dash in H trickshot into ice arrow.

capsule cannot be cancelled into specials only hypers.

As i mentioned earlier Slide into triple arrow is unsafe(still need to test other arrows) but trickshot L(backflip) is kinda safe. I think some of the cast can punish but more testing needs to be done. Right now always cover your slides because Hawkeyes Launcher is extremely unsafe.

You can combo off forward throw by timing chain arrow(the one that puts your opponent in a untechable state) then hit confirming into slide for a full bnb relaunch combo into hyper from anywhere on the screen. Its possible to but your opponent right into the corner with this.

Hawkeye normals i think for the most part suck. I was getting beat out of his L all the time by other characters. Kinda slow and have crap priority. Block strings with him are at this point(day one after all) not possible, maybe possible but not worth it. I think its best to annoy the crap outta your opponent with arrows and trick shots and poke with half screen slides backed with assists and trick shot L for saftey.
Bnb for me is M, Forward H(one hit), trickshot L->ice arrow, M, S, SJ, MMHS. Land, Forward M-> dash into S. SJ MMHS land Trickshot H into posion arrow Gimlet. Dont know the exact damage(posion arrow after all).

ive been playing him and i got to say his damage isnt the greatest…but i guess he makes it up from being a great zoner…
Something to note that I don’t know if you guys knew already:
Stand H is aimable. You can angle the shot at any point during or before the release. You can use it to shoot people in the feet or you can angle it up 45 degrees. If you charge it up so that it shoots 3 arrows, you can tilt the joystick mid release to shoot straight, slightly up, and up on a 45 degree angle.
I don’t know what uses this has but I thought it was pretty cool and might be nice to know.
yes, its very important to cover slides. what im training right now is slide+trick l(poison back flip)+ an assist. with dooms plasma beam u can easily confirm if it hits and go into a combo. normall arrow is super important for hawkeye, ill try to rec some stuff that u can do. jack rose seems to be a pretty good anti air btw (raw air teleports).
I really like his up arrows. They’re really good mixed with assists. Can anyone tell me how good Hawkeye’s chipping game is? and how the Kiss of fire Super works in the corner?
I was playing my friend and his triple arrows consistently beat the durability of Magneto’s disruptor.
Also, I did a very standard BnB in the corner against She-Hulk and the damage showed as 470k.
The sequence was j.H -> cr.L xx cr.M xx slide xx S xx j.M xx j.M xx j.H xx j.S -> backdash xx poison trickshot OTG to Gimlet
Poison brought She-Hulk’s health down to about 50% after it was all done. So I’m assuming it added a fair amount of damage…
something i thought was cool his forward m his little ball move can otg and you can slide right into it for a reluanch and save the freeze shot ground bounce for later

I’ve been hearing his normals are pretty unsafe. Seems like canceling into the crossup flip with an assist will be the go to plan on blockstrings.

So in the corner (you can do this mid-screen too, but you don’t need to backdash after the air S)

So it looks like if you do use the first OTG to continue the combo, you should use Ice Breaker or forward M, and when you finish, use poison arrow to Gimlet to maximize Hawkeye’s solo damage.

Combo I’m doing right now is using spencer grapple assist, L, M, Slide, S, J.HMS, (dash back in the corner) trick shot low, ice arrow, Slide, S, J.MMHS, call spencer, trick shot low, poison arrow, trick shot medium, Heavy follow up ( not sure what its called), into gimlet. This combo works anywhere on the screen and does about 500k with any variation
I think the key to hawkeyes damage is going to be finding combos that end with super scatter shot, which then creates somewhat of a problem with dhc’s and corners.
i think my biggest issue overall with the character is that any dhc INTO gimlet does almost negligible damage, dhc’ing off most any bread and butter combo for another character generally has gimlet doing 75-100k damage, which is almost a complete waste of a meter.
Fairly simple combo using two assists and two poison arrows. I loved to know the exact amounts on poison damage because it seems very high and is possibly the reason why Hawkeyes damage is so low in general.
Edit: You can combo into Gimlet after the second poison arrow but its tight and the damage is shit.
Also you can combo into super scatter shot in the corner off a ground S sjc’d into L ragtime xxSSS (super scatter shot). It also allows you to link another SSS after but I have only been able to get 5 hits of the super.
