If he’s running Hawkeye point then he won’t really have to worry about assist he picks aside from what he wants Hawkeye to do during a Team Hyper Combo. I’m assuming that Poison Tip/Triple Arrow do Gimlet and Scatter Shot does Super Scatter Shot. Of course, I may be misunderstanding his post too.
However, given may other two teammates, (Zero-Rekkoha, Doom-Sphere Flame) I’d be afraid that Super Scatter Shot would push them out of those two hypers causing a significant drop in damage. Then again, I hardly use THCs so it might not even be a determining factor for me.
Super Scatter Shot is really useful in the corner and you can follow up into J. Lightning Arrow into Gimlet. Hawkeye definitely does a lot of damage up close as he does from far away. :3
I’m thinking of having Hawk go second on mah Zero team. Does Poison Arrow assist otg? I’m gonna love the poison damage in my combo, plus i’ll be able to end Zero’s rainbow super with Super Scatter Shot. KICK-ASS.
The poison arrow assist OTGs but like I was asking before, I am wondering how slow it is and what situations we can realistically get it to tag with. I’m wondering if we can use it with someone like Task during his relaunch combos. I think it really depends on how strong your point is and what strategy you’re using. If it’s a battery character or a mixup character that can easily get the opponent into combos and OTG (like Wesker), the poison arrow might be good as long as your third assist is a beam type to let him get in. I dunno, I’m just really interested to see how fast and practical the poison assist is because I probably want to use it.
I’m planning on running Zero (Ryujin) /Hawk (Poison) /Strange (Ballsack). Strange for zoning countering and his assist to help Zero in his pressure and Hawk with his zoning. My combo i do is basically, ABCS Air BBCS land, jump up Sentsuizan OTG+Assist relaunch. It’s worked with almost every assist i’ve tried. So as long as the Poison arrow assist is faster than Ammys Coldstar, it should work. That OTG will make the relaunch almost guaranteed though.
And how many different types of arrows does Hawk have on point anyways? Electric, Net, Scatter, Ice, Poison, Triple, Exploding landmine thing, Small electric ball. Anything else i’m missing?
I think electrical arrow goes threw beams so I don’t think beams will ruin Clint’s game at all. I’ll have Hawk in my second spot behind Cap with trip arrows because most of Cap’s combos end up with the opponent in the corner anyway so it’ll be easy to DHC into super scatter shot then relaunch them and kill some characters without wasting to much meter.
Poison arrow otg assist will help alot of characters like Iron Fist get extra damage on their combos so it’ll definitely get some useand I agree with the crowd that tracking arrows with not have as much use. The main problem is for so many character the corner is where you want your opponent so for your assist to become useless there is a big problem imo.
Really depends on who your third character is. If it was Doom, I would pick Plasma Beam and go with the vertical arrows for Hawkeye. That being said, I still think Triple Arrows is the better choice.
IF I were to run a IronFist/Hawk/Doom team I would 99% time have triple arrows and hidden missiles for sure but I’m not yet so it’s moot. My main Clint team is still Cap/Hawk/Doom or ??? likely Doom.
Cap’s anti air assist will help Clint get people off,Hawk’s trip arrows help Cap and Doom’s mixups, Doom’s Missiles help Cap and Hawk’s keepaway and pressure games.
You have no idea how annoying it is to be pinned down by missiles blocking then I flip around you a couple times for free combo. Cap might end up secret high tier, not top tier but high tier on the down low.
im thinking Fist(otg)/Nemesis(armor swing)/Clint(raining arrows or tripl arrows)
the kamakazi arrows cuz im guessing people are gonna not want to start offense on the ground vs Fist. it might be good to keep em on the ground. plus it may screw the super jumping angle shooting zoners out there.
im thinking Deadpool/Hawkeye/Doom and/or Capt/Hawkeye/Iron Man. And I feel its wrong if we dont find a way to abuse that poison arrow it seems too good to not make broken.
No matter I could just use Cap’s improved SS or CS assist one which will assist in Hawkeye’s zoning a little the other could maybe help combos either way Cap isn’t here for assist anyway he’s a great battery that can easily go from zoning to rushdown pressure.
Plus he hits hard and has good health, your missing the point imo. Cap will rarely not be on point in that team the only assist I need for that team is Missiles because it works for both characters so perfectly.
Covers vertical/aerial space. (Hawkeye can do this)
Tracks. (Hawkeye cannot do this without meter.)
A ton of hit stun (Any time a Hidden Missile assist hits, Hawkeye gets a free Gimlet.)
Little damage, bad scaling. (Meh, we can almost ignore this, but every bit of damage counts.)
Doom is very slow and vulnerable. (Better be good at covering Doom. This also means we have to wait longer to call another assist.)
Missiles stay out for a long time, so Hawkeye can shoot more things.
Plasma Beam
High durability beam that covers horizontal space. (Hawkeye can also do this.)
Causes a soft knockdown. (With good reactions, this’ll turn into a Gimlet as well.)
Good damage. (Something any zoning character won’t complain about.)
Quick, so you can spam it! (Also good for any zoning character.)
I really can’t decide which I like more. I think the main two factors are 1.) Missiles has a lot of hit stun and block stun, so it lets Hawkeye do his horizontal game without interruption; and 2.) Hawkeye’s Scatter Shot looks sick for vertical lockdown Plasma Beam will keep him safe while he basically spams his vertical game.
It probably boils down to your match-up and/or your third character. I personally like Molecular Shield with Zero, for insane combo enders, but I think that will be a fairly weak assist for Hawkeye, so I may try EXTRA hard to make Zero work with Hidden Missiles or Plasma beam.
I’d really like to see if you can tack on a Gimlet after you successfully hit someone with the Plasma Beam assist. Fullscreen hit confirms would be pretty sick.
The only problem with the Poison Arrow assist is that he does a backflip and then shoots the arrow. It would have been a lot better if it was the front flip, but Ragtime and Triple Arrows are still my best assist choices.
