I haven't won a single online match, quite literally

This thread= Wah Wah Wah Wah Wah. I can’t win.

Well there is always going to be those strategies and setups that are bothersome (I feel you as far as the Vergil teleport crossup goes), it’s just a matter of either attempting to predict them and act accordingly, or preventing them from happening at all. I played quite a few people using that exact Vergil setup, for a while it stumped me too, but after a bit of observation and homework on my part it no longer becomes a consistent problem.

I say consistent because like all of us (Aside from maybe Poongko, being a machine and whatnot), I’m human and make mistakes.

that true but i am just going by my own experience, mind you i did not play vanilla at all because the slow down. so i was happy to learn i could at least how people play. I had a match where a buddy of mine was playing Vergil with sent drones backing him up. mind you he was not doing this tele setup at all tight, so there was a big gap between him tele and the drones coming. i still could not block it. so that my reason i am saying that. i tested this in training room right after those matches because i was so irritated by it.

yea that makes sense but i am still very new to marvel so i don’t have good reads as i do in street fighter. so not being able to block something when i am being careful is annoying. but i do understand even blocking that mixup. puts me in a very bad spot.

Yeah, it’s training the fingers , and getting the timing down.

That doesn’t mean it’s a bad idea. It’s definitely worthwhile grinding combo/setup muscle memory against a moving target.

Can you play offline? That’s all that really matters.

I can’t do simple alphabet relaunch combos online half of the time -.-

If you have that problem apparently double tapping helps. Never wanted to develop such a habit since I don’t do it offline.

Setup are worhless, when ia want to block it blocks everything and throw punish everything.

But never doing full combo. against you.

CPU on hardest difficulty BLOCK EVERYTHING and ANYTHING dont dash towards them too they grab u straight out of it 100% of the time if u dont see it coming

When you use frank do this combo: LMHS j.MMHS Camera then have dante’s jam session assist and take another picture after he hits you should get to level 3 just like that.

Pick an assist with a low hit, jump M twice. You land that hit then make sure you get your level up to at least 2, if you can get higher than that do it, then pick an assist that stays out for a little (something like Jam Session, that one Ammy assist) and then roll behind the opponent. Yeah really basic, single minded, and won’t be the single strategy to win against someone competent but you need to start somewhere. Also people really underestimate level 4/5 Frank, he has really good normal range, and I think his chainsaw normals cause chip.

if you just started playin marvel I suggest not usin Ironfist right off the bat… yeah he is a great character but in my own opinion he is for people that have been playin this game for awhile and know the game engine well and there execution is on point. He’s def not a starter character. Come back to him down the road when you are comfortable playing and know the game mechanics.

OP if you use Frank, you’re gonna want someone who can Pseudo DHC glitch to help level him up. Try Dante or Magneto.

Set your rank limit to SAME. this will really help with the opponent’s you’re matched up with (especially now that most of the good online players have had time to rank up).

Also, you might wanna drop Iron Fist. Because at lower levels of play it’s important for all the basics to become second nature to you (like going into a launch combo whether you hit a grounded or airborne opponent). With Iron Fist, his “grounded only” launcher will kinda mess with your instinct to launch off any kind of hit confirm.

But besides that, I actually think Iron Fist is a more advanced character for other reasons. He has no air mobility, nothing spammable from a distance, etc. You really need to have some very effective pin-down setups for I.F. to earn his keep.

You might want to try Wolverine on point. The shopping cart assist almost seems like it was made specifically for him. Plus you can do Noel Brown’s DHC ‘trick’ to get an easy level 4 Frank off one touch.
