You can get a helm breaker really late into combos by using round trip. Blah blah blah->round trip->cr.H->(round trip starts hitting)->S (while round trip is hitting)->helm breaker. So with this I made a new spiral swords DHC that allows you to tag in an OTG assist+round trip regardless of hitstun scaling
corner carry combo->spiral swords->judgement cut L->helm breaker (jump forward a bit before helm breaker)->cr.H->round trip glitch->cr.H->S->helm breaker->call OTG assist->back dash round trip->cr.H->judgement cut L->lunar phase->ect.
You can change the first judgement cut L to helm breaker if you weren’t right next to the cornered opponent after activating swords (judgement cut will make your swords miss in this case). You can move around and still get 2 helm breakers, so make sure to correct your spacing for the cr.H->round trip glitch. You should be almost at the edge of your spiral swords when you throw round trip.
Haven’t really tried tinkering with it to make a midscreen version because my team can always put them in the corner.
My testing was with Dante’s crystal assist (one of the slowest OTG assists in the game Q_Q), so you may or may not have time to back dash and throw round trip AFTER calling your OTG assist. Adjust your assist call timing so that round trip hits as your assist is hitting them.
What is the most efficient way to DHC into swords in the corner? I’m more concerned with stability than damage since I have Cap on point, he’s doing 800k already. Right now I’m doing Hyper Charging Star DHC swords, Lunar Phase, Lunar Phase, 2C, Stinger, (after they wall bounce over you) release round trip, 2C, Judgement Cut, 2C, Continue sword loop or lunar phase if no meter.
The problem is that they often slip out of the first pair of Lunar Phases even if my timing is perfect. It almost never works on large characters. I’ve been messing with dong Hyper Charging Star DHC swords, Helm Breaker, Helm Breaker, release round trip, Lunar Phase like some people… but then I don’t have the option of doing stinger, Round Trip, sword loop because I just used up Round Trip.
Yeah im trying that but it still doesnt work on large characters. Maybe its hyper charging star that is the problem, but when i activate swords against Sent he just falls to the ground and theres nothing i can do.
Uh…you should definitely be able to get a second round trip in the second combo. Helm Breakerx2->round trip->Lunar phase->cr.Hstinger->round trip works.
Maybe you’re just forgetting that cr.H? (though how are you getting the cross under without it?). You can even throw in a cr.H before the lunar phase if you’re worried about charge time.
Other things to consider because Cap combos don’t take that long (and thus don’t wreck your HSD like say, a Dante combo).

though for consistency’s sake you could leave out the “cr.H->SH->round trip->SH->judgement cut->cr.H->stinger->round trip” section and just do lunar phase->cr.H->stinger->round trip.
Thanks for the help. That video is similar to what my BnB has always been, but it simply doesn’t work on Sent or Tronne. Once you DHC to swords, they just fall through. I’ll just accept it. At least they take extra damage from Dimension Slash.

Well the thing is… as far as most damaging is concerned. Vergil can kill any1 solo with enough meter…
The midscreen/Conter combos are the exact same starting up but just have different enders.

The midscreen version is the exact same untill after the divekick.
at that point you want to do , :h:, Stinger, Trick:m:, cr:h: Spiral swords and loop to death. if you fall short on meter for the spiral swors after judgment cut do Lunar Phase, High Time, Dimension Slash
also that ender i did isnt optimal IIRC pretty sure its something like helm breaker round trip judgment cut :l: cr:h: Lunar Phase
I’m having 2 problems with the sword loop combo, maybe someone can help me out.
My combo is c.l c.m c.h > stinger > m. trick > MHSH > release round trip > SH > L. Judgement > Cr. H > Spiral Swords
Sometimes they fall out of the first Lunar Phase on my first sword loop rep right at the end when Vergil comes down with the groundbounce hit. I’m guessing it’s a spacing issue dependent on how far I am when I start Lunar Phase but I’m not totally sure.
In the corner after DHCing into Swords to do a TOD sword loop combo, I can’t keep the opponent from hitting the ground during the first Lunar Phase. I have watched videos closely and the opponent stays above the swords, preserving the groundbounce, but they always fall under for me and I can’t land a second Lunar Phase.
I’ll try out that last sequence today for the first combo.
Maybe I have the DHC combo wrong but I thought it was DHC > Lunar Phase 1 > Lunar Phase 2 > Cr. H > Stinger > release roundtrip > Cr. H > L Judgement > Cr. H > Sword loop.
I’m inputting the first Lunar Phase during the sword super freeze so it comes out right away. Maybe I’ll learn the helm breaker version if this won’t work consistently enough for me.
Can someone please give me a hint or some advice on why on Earth I’m having so much trouble hitting the 2nd Lunar Phase in this combo here?(The 1st version using only 2 bars). Everytime I get to the part of the last Lunar Phase it either comes out but the character falls right before it hits or it doesn’t come out at all,is there a special time frame between the Judgement Cut or something?

I personally do not bother with a naked lunar phase after judgement cut. I always do cr.H Judgement Cut cr.H Lunar Phase. So I would just stick in a cr.H xx Lunar Phase. It’s always been more consistent for me personally and it’s more damage/meter to boot.
