Guess they aren’t LCFC.
Maybe they would’ve liked to see “I am ugly” thread. Like Sean’s old one in GD that caused Hurricane Katrina casualties over there lol.
…and so it shall be.
you’ll never get the fire that Psianyd brought when he stated his claim in GD history with that thread.
Sadly, I missed that. Oh well.
architects don’t get paid well? shit I had better warn my friend who’s new life goal is to become an architect
Frank, you don’t know me, but I’m a northwesterner. I don’t know what exactly is missing from this forum, that used to be, because I’m relatively new. Also, as I’ve lurked this forum for the most part, I’ve noticed there’s nobody from my more-immediate area that posts here. Most of who I’ve seen post are either Seattlians, or otherwise Washers (not a diss, just speaking flavorful). Therefore I never find anything relevant to my mission for browsing here. I was hoping matchmaking threads would be more effective in finding competition, but nobody really seems serious about SF4.
In conclusion, I’m basically bound to online play despite it being even less serious of a competition outlet when the connection drops. At least I can play SoCal kids.
I guess my point is that if I were to find people IRL to play, I wouldn’t be the type who’d care much to get personal and all that LCFC business. Not that I’m disapproving of it, or denying the possibility; but even in terms of playing SF4 and the community that goes with it, I’m here for business.
I can totally respect that opinion. But seeing that you are somewhat new, you are missing the one special thing about Seattle’s fighting game scene.
It’s probably the only scene in the entire nation where everyone for the most part are really good friends outside of gaming. We aren’t Street Fighter players that are friends, we are friends that play Street Fighter.
What part of WA are you from? I mean for the most part most of us are from Bellevue, Lynnwood, Tacoma, Federal Way, and a few in Seattle. We just pick Seattle because it’s the most identified city in WA outside of WA.
I think that’s what a lot of people don’t get, back in the day when marvel was the shit. Besides us getting together and practicing at Cody’s house, we’d do a lot of non video game things too.
I guess the only way to really see what I’m talking about is to actually see it in person.
I’ll tell you one thing, I honestly never thought I’d give a shit about hanging out with any of yuo guys when I first started showing up - I just wanted to lpay street fighter. But I find at most gatherings (though I still play quite a bit) I am more concentrated on just talking to people and chilling than I am about just playing the game.
Washers, I like that.
Our friendliness is both a curse and a blessing. It’s tight to not have an awkward group of people like the guilty gear scene or something, but also it detracts from us being hungry. I don’t feel the need to play2win sometimes because we’re all just friends goofing off. I feel like we have like 2 people in the zone at a time, instead of all of us practicing to get better.
Yeah I’m not from Washington. One of the unmentionable cities in Oregon without much going for it apparently. Maybe time will tell. Anyway, I guess I’d have to be there to know your group. I did assume your circle developed out of gaming. Now I really understand where you’re coming from. People need to chill.
