I just hope I don’t get too exposed. I dunno If I’m using Magneto right, I’m all “pew, pew, pew, disruptaaah” and when they get in I throw some assist and trijump garbage to fuck their minds, I make sure I have at least one and a half bars (so that I build enough for a gravity squeeze) or that I’m close to the corner in order to transition from a b&b into a gravity loop and that’s it.
It’s what I see magneto do in pretty much all tournaments. Or what I make out from the gameplay at least.
Gravity Squeeze unmashed does 400k.
Gravity Squeeze fully mashed does around 446k.
Mashing is still dumb.
I dislike it, it just fuck ups arcade sticks and pads alike.
I like it. I already do it without the reward, I just have a reason for doing it now.
Arcade sticks are more durable than you might think, Futch.

after watching this old school SB2 video of Yipes vs Justin, I can’t wait to use all white Magnus. Especially with dat Pharcyde in the backgroumd.
I really need to see some tourney players lvl up with magnus, Yipes doesn’t seem comfortable at all here. (just doing min damage combos)
guess some stuff needs to be figured out yet.
To be fair, no one at all looks that comfortable with Ultimate Magneto. Yipes is probably dropping him for Nova and also said that Fanatiq was thinking of doing the same.
RayRay definitely seems to be adjusting the best so far.

The biggest nerf is hitstun deterioration it seems.
Maybe he’s no battery anymore, but an anchor. I dunno really, we need more time!
If it were me, I’d handled that different, combo hitstun deterioration being charcter dependent, if possible. And a damage nerf all over the board. And less stupid x-factor.
But I guess this is the wrong thread to rant, haha.
I think the problem is that we are all trying to play Ultimate Mags like Vanilla Mags…which just won’t be nearly as effective anymore. Magneto is probably the most changed character from vanilla.
This is hard to say, but Doom does Vanilla Magneto’s job better than Ultimate Magneto does.
My brain is having a tough time accepting and executing with all the changes. It’s like I’m still running at 320mph and the game wants me to rock 80. I keep doing naked downback air dashes, I can’t combo for shit (I instinctively fly loop instead of doing the magblast stuff), I still try to ROM… At least WESKER is broken now, so i can abuse the crap out of his new stuff

You guys do know by now the Fierce ROM loop still works, right? You just have to SJ Up/Forward. It’s actually better for carrying people to the corner because of the 9 input and 3 inputs and the increased push back of Fierce. Of course, you can only do like 3 reps, but that just means more Hyper Grav loops, which are easier do do the slower Air Dash. Of course, if you can mix the loop up with Med it’ll make things more consistent for you.
you can totally get more than 3 loops midscreen, the timing is just tighter and i usually end up getting a TK Disruptor (only going from left to right).
Because of the SJ forward in the ROM, you can accidentally get an air distruptor.
i think sometime today or tomorrow i’ll be updating the OP. also it seems like a lot has changed from the builds myself and others have played (the push/pull/fall moves have a lot more recovery, for instance =/)
Repulsion, attraction, gravitation are all too good! I just got the game, but started using Magnus in Ultimate this weekend. Before, I was sticking only to new characters.
