I Got Next | A Documentary on the Fighting Game Scene

ummm so whens this come out?

This is dope. I donated $5, I know that isn’t much compared to what you’ve spent or what other people are giving to you, but I have no money at the moment but I still want to help. But thanks for doing this man.

Is it out yet?!
C’mon hurry up
We are freaking hasty dammit
Good Stuff

I go to UC and am starting a fighting game club, and when this comes out I am going to see if we can have a premiere at the school theater. We did the same thing with BBoy planet, and had a jam afterward. with this i am gonna have a huge gaming session after the movie, so we can familiarize people with the fighting game scene, and just have a good time.

does that sound like a good idea?

If you can get the crowd in, sounds like a great idea. Get the dude’s permission to show it first though

Great timing for another fighting game documentary, cant wait.

Can’t wait to see this i love documentaries i get chills… seeing them :open_mouth:

Well of course, I would have to have permission from him, and i know a lot of people who will want to see this movie. But i’m happy to see something like this making its way to a wider audience.

Premiere tonight! Woo! I’m really looking forward to it!

(Purchase represent!)

I’d be pretty sad if G4 gets their hands on this and milks it for what its got on their own store, even though you’ll be giving it out for free. G4 has done that before, I remember when The King of Kong was free, then they setup a dupe site so they could make money off it. Shit’s whack.

I love the dude doin’ the Lil John during the “final round” chant. FI-NAL ROUND! WHHAT!? FI-NAL ROUND! WHAT!?

I don’t follow? Isn’t promotion one of the best possible outcomes for this and the SF4 community? Or is there a back story for the King of Kong that I’m oblivious to? I think the fighting community has a lot of room for exposure right now, why not have someone like G4 jump all in and help out? I’m surprised they haven’t been following it as much as they could have been to be honest. Short little blurbs here and there. Could be much more.

Ian is showing a 45min rough cut today at his college. I am on my way upstate to see it! Ill post feedback tonight!

Can’t wait to see this. Looks great.:cybot:

East Coast Rep!

let us know how the screening went guys

The premiere was really good! He pulled off the difficult task of making a movie about people talking about and playing video games fun to watch! I’m looking forward to what this movie’ll look like not long after Evo!

Ian, he really knows what he is doing! At the premiere a random older couple walked in to watch and even they got drawn in. Hell I’m in the damn movie and I was watching it like I didn’t know what place I came in at certain tournys, I was waiting for things to unfold like I wasn’t there first hand haha. He really made you feel for the characters in the movie (justin, gootecks, Ross and myself). The film helps the people who aren’t apart of the community understand all of us and what we love, which is pretty important if you ask me. This wasn’t even close to final cut and already it’s damn good. Great job ian!!

Joe, thanks for the heads up… in fact I’m going to watch the trailer again haha.

looking forward to it. cant wait.

I thought the cut was great. Fleshes out everyone nicely and introduces a lot of the well known names in the community. Also a very rough cut which is awesome considering how much more could be added to it, making a very interesting final product. Already said it to you, but good shit so far man. Can’t wait until everything’s finished with it.
