I don't like being called a stream monster

If you don’t like being called a stream monster, get the large majority of your fellow moronic, dillusional stream viewers to stop being the scum of the internet.

But we all know we can just show off a Nos girl, and you’re going to literally feel yourself.

which is why I dont post in the stream chat unless someone gives me a shout out at the tourney

Don’t take it to heart dude, not everyone that uses the word stream monster means it as a derogatory statement. Trust me James Chen and Ultra David aren’t trying to insult viewers when they say it. Consider the fact that people putting up streams love that people are actually viewing what they’re providing.

Besides it’s the people popping off in the chat whom they mean to insult when they call out people for being stream monsters. I swear I can’t believe some of the things people will say in the chat, and they deserve any insult they get.

This thread is pointless. Stream Monsters now are those who are watching the streams, the viewers, we have pot monsters, lag monsters, online warriors (which is not endearing in any way) blah, blah, blah. They are names that are part of the FGC.

I’m a Stream Monster and I’m proud of that shit. I support as many streams as I can, I donate, hype the stream, help the streamers in anyway I can. A lot of times I don’t stand the BS the Stream Monsters and wish they were more useful, but hey someone will come around.

I attend and work on my local scene, I’m making my own tournaments and I was heavily influenced by some of the hard working guys behind the streams, and someday I hope to have my own stream, hype it up and welcome the Stream Monsters that will come. Not all of them are twats, just 90%. But that’s okay.

Countless times I’ve seen many pros being just stream monsters, chilling and watching their stream with their favorite games. No need to feel offended dude, just enjoy the ride.

calling out pissing contests is a subversive way to attempt to win said pissing contest.

calling out people who call out pissing contests wins by default. stay free, planet monsters

No you’re not the only one…You just have to suck up your pride and scald children with the boiling water itself.
Yes I know, you don’t really get the element of surprise or that cool “water flamethrower” effect when you don’t pressurize it, but sometimes sacrifices have to be made in order to change your image.

I know the OP has been flamed to shit here but to be honest Im inclined to agree with him to an extent. He doesnt communicate his view very well so he comes off getting totally flamed for it but the intentions of his concern are justifiable.

Calling people monsters wont encourage them to be anything other than that but call a person something positive and they will aspire to be that way. I do think it would help the image of the FGC if the moral boundaries between the “monsters” and the civilized “streamers” are distinguishable. People might behave with a little more reservation then and the perception from outsiders will be slightly different.

I realise some people may call the broadcasters “streamers” but really they could be called “Broadcasters” or “Casters” for short which gives the image of being in control. Then the civil people who are watching the stream should be rewarded with a positive word with some level of integrity like “Streamer” and then the idiots should get the term “monsters”. Like it or not, streaming is a large part of the FGC now. Thousands of people all over the world watch, theyre not all going to be able to fly all around the world to enter the tournaments but at least theyre embracing the spirit of the event. The more encouraging streams can be, the more people may watch them, advertising could go up and bring more money to these events and streams and draw more people in with larger amounts of prize money.

If people want the FGC to grow any further then certain attitudes do really need to change. I do think the OP is right in saying that monsters shouldnt be used as a generalised term. If people want FGs to become a professional E-Sport like Starcraft then a certain level of professionalism needs to be adopted. Its not going to grow unless the FGC evolves its attitude with it.

  1. google major/stream name
  2. click first link
  3. load stream
  4. sign in to stream
  5. load up chat
  6. type the stupidest shit know to mankind
  7. piss of an entire scene
  8. ???
  9. profit

I do have to admit, this is one of the more complicated profit schemes I have seen in a while.

just think like this, they dont mean the viewers. they mean the trolls who get on and mock the whole event.

Why is this even a thread? In GD nonetheless.
