Hi all! My username on here is judge_rl, but you can just call me judge_rl. I was considering letting go of MvC2 because of how much I get my ass handed to me by my friends (chuckle to myself although I could just as well write lol but I am too much of a noob for that…obviously…lol). Anyway, I try my darndest to master the best combos and to pick all the top teams and characters (e.g., Sentinnial, Magnuseto, Storum, and Cabielle), but when I play my friends I still lose.
One example, I was flying with Sentinnial when my friend was using Cabielle (who happened to have ALL 5 BARS!!! omg) when out of nowhere he did that magic re-jump infinite with Air Hyper Viper Beam (not sure why people call it AHVB but that’s just me…chuckle…lol?).
Another example of why I need help is, whenever I play my other friend who uses Magnuseto a lot, he keeps catching me not blocking low. I never block low though because I KNOW how fast Magnuseto can superjump and airdash downforward to hit me with an overhead and into ROHUM. Even though I have never seen my friend do it and am pretty sure he is not even able to do the superjump airdash consistently or even ROHUM at that, I make sure he won’t ever catch me slipping and not blocking high. What should I do?
Thanks guys. By the way, I love this game. I’m just that kind of a hardcore guy y’know. MvC2 for life! chuckle…lol
edit: I almost won EVO last year, but I got taken out by Yipes because he caught me blocking low. Sheesh. This game and us hardcore guys. chuckle
I need help too. I like to play this game called Marvel vs Capcom 2 but no-one good will play with me! They always go off and play a game called MvC2…I dunno what that game is, but it can’t be as good as Marvel!!!
Also, I try to play Ryeuu and I keep doing dragonpunches because I think they are invincible. But everytime I land, my friend hits me into the air and beats me up! But I keep doing them because they look cool.
I am a master at Marvel vs Capcom 2!!!:woot::woot::nunchuck::nunchuck:
:u: you’re kidding right? he does have a beam super! it just doesn’t take meter. it’s called PM disraptor iirc
what’s cool about it is it is a super that doesn’t require meter so you can use it as much as you want and there are even TWO versions of this same super (light and heavy!)…but the downside is you don’t have a super flash so it loses some perks like momentary invincibility, dhc, and such. i like to use it to hit storm after she makes me mad by hitting me with hailstorm. too bad i can’t use it to keep other magnusetos from playing low/low mix-up on me
have you figured out how to airdash with ryu yet? i can do it in tvc but i always screw up on the motion in mvc2. so hardcore
I used to have that problem too. Then I had a session with Justin Wong and he told me that feelings are like Sentinnial when you have Magnuseto: take them to the corner and they don’t matter anymore. Still don’t know what that means but boy do I hate being stuck in the corner =/ I usually just tag out then anyway to surprise people who try to assist infinite my point character
On another note, my hori stick just came in the mail today. I’m still working on mastering my launch into magic series, but my stick should make that much easier for me now that I have it. I wonder why people are giving me so much bad rep for asking for advice and trying to help out fellow nubs. chuckle it’s just so mindboggling
assumes it is ok being i am the only one in the mvc2 threads right now
XD
hey ryan. thnx for the props but my secrets tactics are only secrets to few. this is why i always lose my money matches. people get in my head and beat me with my own tactics. but there is that HUGE, like, 5% of people i can still use them against. anyway, i asked for help, but i seem to be giving out all the advice in this thread chuckle it’s all good tho. it’s just us HARDCORE gamers, right? winkWINK
anyway, maybe this will help some people: when to use a snapback…
when you are getting up after getting knocked down (for example, after they hit you with a 45-hit combo and end it with a clip)
after you jump over someone (but be careful because sometimes you will do a triple snap and hit your assist too because of mvc2’s glitchy assist-tracking thigamajig…just read magnetro’s site if you don’t believe me…i think preppy has it in a vid where i almost won evo, but yeah…i triple-snapped myself and lost =/ win some, lose some…HARDCORE)
when you are getting combo’d with say, i dunno, an infinity? just repeat the snapback motion, cuz they might eventually drop you and mess up their assisted combo where you can then take the lead and kill their assist character (tricky, right? but work on executing your mash motions and eventually it’s cake)
jump forward 3 times, and then on the 4th time, dash forward and SNAPBACK (it works 75% of the time)
the coolest and mind-screwing technique is to just menacingly use a snaback, and i mean from fullscreen away, when they call assists. after they see this, they KNOW what it is you want to do and overthink themselves. eventually, and this is like, iunno, 55% of the time, they give it to you. you know how you build 2bars for dhc in this game? you need to build like at least 3 to use this strategy. it takes patience, but it pays off. TRUST ME. i still mess up on executing my snapbacks sometimes tho so i’m still working on it too, but when u get it to come out, you got it
anyway, this is mostly old news, but it helped me level up by like 4 final fantasy levels (and that is no joke, cuz in final fantasy games it takes at least a good 30 behemoth fights to get that many levels…although, this is mahvel BABY!!! dat mango…pringles? anyway…) when i first learned it. just be careful of using these strats at places like EVO, cuz i tried to get DUC DO to calm down on the spiral/sentinel jutsu when i fought him in prelims but no matter how much meter i used by employing strat #5, he just kept taking away my health. that guy
