"I can't hold all these Tanuki Bombs!" Ibuki Combo Thread

THE BEST THING IS THAT IN THE VIDEOS THERE MUST SHOWN AND THE INPUTS ALSO

@d3v

Is it possible we can treat this guy as a bot?

Just watch the video and right down the inputs. If you have a question ask. I’m sure someone will help you

@Weeaboo I called the cops already too.

basic v skill combos. her v skill is really good for footsies cause she lifts her leg

Is there a combo you can do with the bomb that is stored. Been trying to find a way to use it in a combo. If not what do y’all normally use it for.

most likely there is something after ex kunai

How do you guys deal with her neutral game? I can’t seem to get a grasp on her footsies

Better to ask this in the General or Matchup thread.

Thanks. I didn’t even think of that

have a few questions for you guys…

just to clear something up… st mp , st lk cancels into specials but it seems like the target combo: st lp, st mp, st lk does not cancel to a special. is this true or do i just need to try harder?

also what meatie buttons are you all using after raida, kazigiri knockdowns? is the an optimal one? how are you all feeling so far about her meatie game in general? coming from cammy i can’t help but try to get a grasp on this part of her game plan…

finally i’m having some issues getting something figured out for vtrigger combos using the second bomb, not 2 bomb combos, just something utilizing the the second bomb. the closest i’ve found cancels ex-kunai into the standard bomb. a delayed kazigiri keeps them airborne long enough for the bomb to combo but this seems less than ideal. what are you all doing with the second bomb? is there a meterless option?

Ibuki seems like she gets the most out of frame traps.

This is after a blocked st. MP:
[ cr.LP/st.MP (CH) xx L Kunai, link into Kachofugetsu ]

You can CA cancel into Kachofugetsu, but it’s much much easier to link it. That’s an insane super confirm. The distance of [ blocked st.MP, hit CH cr.LP/st.MP xx L Kunai ] makes the Kunai hit the opponent’s feet, leading to more frame advantage, I believe.

Or you can do after blocked st.MP:
[ st.MP (CH), link into Kachofugetsu ]

This one is a lot more situational, and a lot harder to do, but after a blocked move (cr.LK?):
[ chain into st.LP (CH), link into Kachofugetsu ]
[ chain into st.LP (CH) xx L Kunai xx Kachofugetsu ]

I really think Ibuki relies a lot on CA meter, with EX kunai and CA, and the obvious EX Kazegiri.

You are correct. The LK in the target combo has no cancel properties. It’s just a basic string.

Don’t underestimate the power of having Kunai’s. Personally I think that all combo’s that release all Kunai’s are bad. The damage is not worth it to be without Kunai. Unless it kills of course. That’s why I think it’s good to know how to do the combo’s, but it’s not worth it to use as a bread and butter. Kunai’s are invaluable, and Ibuki without kunai is basically useless imo (You need kunai’s to pressure, and to use for any meaningful confirms).

note: You do NOT have time to get back 3 kunai safely after EX Raida. You barely have time to get back 1 kunai safely, most characters can even punish you for trying to get 1 kunai (for example, Ryu can EX fireball on wakeup and it’s a guaranteed hit. Chun-Li can super, etc).

release in combo adds like 40-60 damage. single kunai is worth 40 damage.

Simple c.mp xx ex.kunai j.kunai l.kunai sets up a left/right safe jump mixup (all nonex dps) on ryu, costs three kunai but if you have it it’s real nice, figure it works on other characters if it works on him

Fantastic

I was looking at her oki options vs 3F Jab. I was using Chun as the dummy. So we know that St.Mp meaty or CH gives a lot of frame advantage and can link into her St.Mk, D.HK XX D.HK TC. Could we use her jump KK XX Kunai for some kind of 50/50? I want to test this setup more but sleep must prevail.
