i’m rocking Amaterasu/Dante/phoenix right now. I mean switch Dante out for some other characters. I think Amaterasu works well with phoenix. Ama also counter sentinel very well.
Here’s a pretty beastly mixup… (regular or DPh)…
wtver to launch… sj.M, sj.M, sj.fwd+H, dwn+H (they bounce) relaunch, dash under immediate teleport above, dwn+H (you’ll drop in cross up + overhead and they bounce again), relaunch, sj.M, sj.M, sj.fwd+H, sj.H xx light TK shot xx phoenix force.
That’s a single mixup string… if you are saving meters of DPh then just nix the phoenix force at the end… still good dmg.

I think the only teleport mixup I got is combo into her Med TK Overdrive, jH, j f+H, jH, H tele, overhead with jH, d+H…
The key to the one I posted is that you are out of the screen when the tele starts… and they may not see you cross under first… then they are so high that you come out of the tele right above them and U hit dwn +h… they don’t have time do avoid blocking and gotta block it right. Plus up high like that they can’t call assist coverage.
I’ve ocv’d a few peeps online so far without even using DPh… she has all the moves you need… just can’t pick the wrong one at the wrong time

I curious about the other Phoenix teams out there who are you guys runnin with, what assists are you using, who’s on point, are you stocking meter for Phoenix of using healing field for psuedo heath. Questions we all take in account when taking the risk of putting her on our team.

Wesker(Samurai Edge)/Doom(Molecular Shield/Hidden Missiles)/Phoenix(TK Trap)
I don’t even bring Phoenix out in fear of someone punishing the assist.
For a BnB combo, I’ve been using:

455,800 damage, one meter. Works from nearly anywhere, though they need to be cornered after the :dp: in order for the :d:+:h: to connect after the “extra” :h:.
There’s probably better stuff, but no one is throwing down material so I thought I’d start with a simple no-teleport combo that anyone can do.
Dark Phoenix mode has a similar combo, but she can’t follow :dp: as easily (because of all the extra hits knocking my Cap dummy around) so we alter things:
:d:+:m::h::d:+:h::f:+:h::dp::l:, :l:
:h::s: sj.
:h::qcf:+:l::qcf:+:atk::atk:
888,000 with 1 meter and no X-Factor. With Level 3 X-Factor, that’s 2,407,700. Cheers!
Note: With DPm your specific mileage will vary based on how the fireballs line up relative to distance from corner etc. For instance, this combo has ranged from 873,300 to 888,000.
I been playing v.joe(aaa)/jean(TK shot)/dormammu(still toying)
Basically joe builds meter like crazy and has very nice rush down… if joe goes limp b4 I’ve got the meter for phoenix I tag him out to dormammu and zone the shit out of peeps… mostly using df+l, f+h, and hell fires to keep people out and chip like hell.
When jean is in it means I have 5 meters unless she got snapped in or something… so I play with her… mostly zoning with occasional bursts of rushdown… and I just wreck shop til she goes DPM… then keep wrecking til about 30% life and then xfactor… and just keep owning.
Healing field is reaaally situational… like if she is in… has been hurt… and is not close to 5 meters… but if all that’s the case shit has gone south already and it can really help.
When joe does well I normally don’t even see dormammu come in… just joe rushing til its phoenix time. Seems all of dormammu’s assist help jean zone but I’m not sure which I like best yet.
Jean’s assist is only there… and only called when I’m already zoning them with voomerangs or dormommu’s array of shit so that I know she’s safe. In that respect her assist aint bad at all.
I’ve been running Wesker/Sent/Phoenix. It works pretty well.
Also, tri-dash H is buff as fuck.

oh man Phoenix is soooooooo much fun. I really need to catch up on this thread and her general strats/combos. All I do is run away and spam FBs and traps with her. :lol: It’s so pathetic that I couldn’t even tell you the animation for most of her normals. She is such a good zoning character with the H fireballs. I been using air tags to get meter quickly and bring her in as soon as I get 5 bars. IMHO it’s alot better that way because when you go DPh you can tag her out and let your teammates go back to using meter for themselves. DPh’s fireball assist is very nice as well.
Spider-Man is so annoying lol. I kept getting hit by maximum spider’s it activates so much faster than it use to it ounishes you just for walking forward almost damn near. Sounds like a nice squad but wouldnt put Dante on point he’s a meter eater IMHO (that is). I been using Dante just as an assist until point character dies. So spidey on point is just perfect but save meter for Phoenix if spidey dies so just outplay your opponent without using your meter. Because if you use Phoenix as an assist to help Dante and you fuck because she ends up getting puished with a powerful super Phoenix will die before she gets a chance to fight. Then Dante gonna have to pull through for you.
You put Phoenix on your team expecting to use DP…that is all.

Today marks the day where I consistently beat people with Phoenix… ON POINT. Seriously, I cannot stress this enough. Phoenix herself is a damn good character. Incredible speed, high damage potential, phenomenal hypers, teleports, air dashes… Phoenix has a move for literally every situation.
I’ve been beasting with Phoenix / Dante / Ammy (occasional spidey because I like him)

Phoenix/Sent is amazing.
1.Phoneix jumps really high so you can use that to hide your assist then teleport behind/above for a cool mix up.
2.Sent is a tank your opponent is going to need quite some meter to get rid of him.
3.He can do great damage without meter.
4.He like phoenix, has an amazing X-factor level 3.
The drones assist+Plus her movement options, makes phoenix a big problem, even on point.
I know it’s early, however, there is alot your can punish with her Teleport.Mostly notably, a good amount of the things Sentinel can do.
No doubt. I’d say 50% of the time when I get her i with 5 meters intending to just fight til death and go DPM… and she just kills off the whole other team instead…lol
My fav character easily… even without DPM. I think it gets in peoples head… b/c she is all over them/they can’t touch her… then they look down… see 5 meters and it breaks their spirit… like wtf even if I get her she comes back fucking harder?

I noticed that Phoenix by herself is indeed really strong. I’ve made huge comebacks with JUST Phoenix before, when I was planning on going into dark phoenix, but never ended up needing to.
I’m def the conservative type who will save the meter for dark phoenix tho.
same this team so far seems solid to me … but what do you mean by “tri-dash H” ? i know what tri-dash is but why the H?

i was thinkin about messing using doom whenever i wanna switch it up… there seems to be some nice trap options that bring her and doom into some good synergy…i cant say too much about your team cause im still learning myself… it looks like a real interesting squad though…do you know if overdrive is situational ? or is it just a good assist? can someone fill me in a bit… i use tk shot cause i thought the others werent really great. opinions?
Tron builds meter like a boss so I have her on point. Sent because if I lose Phoenix somehow (aerial tag counter into anything, snapback into Phoenix then combo etc) he still can dominate. That and drones are just dumb good assist. Tron and Sent have enough vitality to make total team vitality good assuming I get DPhx.
So far 90% of my matches I’ve played v.joe/phoenix/dormammu in that order. Won over 85%ish (mostly just random people I’ve run into.)
She is easily the best person on my team DPM or no DPM… tho I normally save the meters if possible. I know some pretty wild combos with her… but I normally don’t bother to try em. Her mixups are wild enough even solo.
