4 Bars lvl 2 X-factor at least 2 characters?
eh…
4 Bars lvl 2 X-factor at least 2 characters?
eh…
lol, I didn’t even payed attention. FOUR meters… and a DHC to cap the damage into over 100k?
Dark Phoenix itself would have been much better.
interesting set up it looks sweet … is it practical ?
Level 1 xfactor not 2 .
Just imagine this scenario: you have Jean on point - with 4 bars.
You will want to waste all of your meter (plus X-Factor), just to one-shot a character?
Not practical at all. Save the juice for DPh.
Also; not directly related - but this makes use of Jean’s TK Trap Assist. Sent is indeed a great teammate, doing a 700k meterless corner combo without too much trouble.
Jean’s TK Trap assist for some reason works less as a trap more as some sort of AA. It’s not the same as the traps she uses when on point. I’d stick with her TK overdrive assist unless you have some specific setups, but even then there are other better ones that can be used.
Also that combo would actually have still been pretty sweet with just 1 meter without the Gravity Squeeze at the end.
Can’t wait to try her out tomorrow. Still not sure if I’m going to use Dorm or Mag with Doom and Phoenix…
You can use Phoenix’s TK Overdrive to go through projectiles and hit the opponent, at least Arthur’s which should be a relief for some people.
Oh, and if someone gets this idea for some reason, Phoenix has to be on point with 5 bars to die, it doesn’t count if you have 5 bars and she dies as an assist.
That would be utterly ridiculous if she could go Dark Phoenix as an assist. The newbs would rage with the fires of a thousand suns. XD
While I do have the same reservations about using four meters to kill someone with Phoenix as opposed to waiting to go into Dark Phoenix, those combo videos do raise some interesting points. For awhile, I was going to assume that standard combo ender (if you wanted to burn meter) was going to be a TK TK Shot, but TK Trap launcher looks very cool.
Every character can be killed by almost any other character in no more than 2 combo’s. Even air to air attacks lead to 60%+ thanks to j.Sxxground hitting assistxx super. Hell over half the cast has instant overheads (like instant j.A) that can result in 60-70%. Expect charactes to consistently die in 1 hit than 1 mixup afterwards. Except Pheonix, expect her to die 90% of the time when she get hit the first time without even making your opponent x-factor. Yes her health is really that low, j.A->j.B->j.B->j.C->ground planting move (almost every character has one)-> super normally kills her.
If by 3 combo’s you mean kill a character a combo sent, thor, and DPh are probably the only one’s that can do that.
I think what he was trying to say is that once people start discovering 100% combos on healthy characters like Thor and Sentinel, her low health weakness will start to become diluted and will not seem that big of a deal. It’s like Seth said, a few months after the game comes out, people will actually complain that she has too much health for all the offensive benefits she gets + the free mini-combo breaker she gets if she transforms.
Quoting as a point of reference.
This is actually why I think at the highest levels, Phoenix WILL be used a ton. As much as it sucks that simple stuff can kill her, all that means is that at the lower levels of competition, she will seem less viable because people with even basic combo ability will be able to kill her off one opening, where if you were using Thor or Sentinel, you could afford to get caught 4 times or more before the same player was able to down you. Simply put, in low calibur play, Phoneix is far less durable than everyone else is.
But at higher levels, even a Thor or Sentinel player can get killed after only 2 mistakes. Heck, if it’s late in the match and the opponent has x-factor and some meter, even those characters will die in 1 mistake. So at higher levels, Phoenix can still only afford 1 mistake at most, a Thor or Sentinel player can afford 2. That is a MUCH smaller gap. When you look at it like that, relative health numbers mean very little.
At the highest levels, picking Phoenix literally means “I can make one less mistake than with the other characters”.
Is this serious? Really?
Can her TK Overdrive Assist also go through projectiles?
Thanks in advance. :3
Hey! Sorry if this has been answered before, but does DP mode change healing field in anyway?
Phoenix = I can take one mistake.
Dark Phoenix = I can take one mistake.
She can take two mistakes total.
Hello board.
Anyways, correct me if I am wrong but Phoenix will be played to maximize her DPh mode. Doesn’t that mean she can afford 2 mistakes?
Edit: above poster beat me 2 it.
Well…unless of course your first mistake was to die without 5 full bars of super. Unless we’re saying that’s two mistakes.
“OP” means stands for what?
Either Original Poster or Overpowered
anyways what is phoenix’s BnB currently?
Great combo, but it’s strange that they DHCed into Maggy’s lvl 3. Phoenix’s hyper does 12 hits, but it only got to do 4 due to Maggy grabbing the other char. Phoenix’s hyper alone probably would have been sufficient to do the job, and if not just DHC into Mag’s magnetic shockwave.
