1 character combo into hyper into KFC into hyper will most definitely kill her. Some average health characters die from Ground series>Air series>E>OTG relaunch>Hyper>KFC Hyper, Phoenix will probably die from a simple combo into a damaging lvl3.

Confirmation of a fireball assist!

Now we know she has her flame rush thing, (whats that attacks name?) and her fireballs. 3rd assist still unknown.

This will be either her trap, or “Phoenix Crusher” with AA angle (like Storm’s Lightning Attack assist).

She totally ripped that flame rush thing from Cinder in Killer Instinct.

So I actually get to see Morrigan’s meter assist on the front page. It gives about a solid 1/6th of a meter. She’s not out for a while either. Question: Does Morrigan have to be next to Phoenix to revive the meter? Or Morrigan just jumping out and filling the meter and it doesn’t matter where Phoenix is?

It doesn’t matter where she’s as far as i could tell when i tested it. Unless the character gets more for standing on her when she cones out

Nah, you get about 30% meter regardless of where she is. Not sure if you get meter from it if she gets hit though.

when I was messing with it, if you hit her REALLY early, she doesn’t give the meter, but it has to be pretty damn quick.

That’s cool. Rocket Super DHC into Phoenix super seems pretty comboable arnd/or safe in theory. Runaway Jean with Morrigan meter assist and Dante’s rock guitar assist.

In case you couldn’t tell, I’m building my teams FOR Jean. She’s gonna be the main damage maker. But with Dante (who already seems buffer than Phoenix) and Storm (no-brainer) the team can still function should she get nuked easily. However, if Jean goes without hitting DPh the Morrigan meter assist is… Not too hot for defense. However, with Dante it could keep his Demon Form up. Maybe that would be worthwhile… not up to date on Dante’s Demon Form upgrades.

Strictly theory fighting… do you guys think Jean can only have a team based around/for her competitively for her to be viable? It doesn’t really look like she’ll be too great as a throw-in character to shore up a team. In this way + the way she takes damage I think she compares to Strider. But other than those two ways, they don’t really have much that’s comparable.

I would just throw her on any team. The way she looks, she has everything good you can want and the chance and or goal to be resurected into even more broken character. Why not design a team on her, shit design two lol

Personally, I’m thinking of throwing her in a team with Zero on point and Chun as the assist, because I want a good meter dump and actually kind of like the idea of a team that dies really quickly while still being a good team. Just keep cycling Chun and Zero until I’ve got level 5, bring in Phoenix to make people scared to kill her, combo into a hyper at any chance, DHC into Zero’s level 3 for a probable kill, then start building meter again.

I don’t see her as throw in character in any squad, I can very well see her team being built Phoenix/Battery/Wildcard character so until someone define what’s her strongest feature runaway or rushdown we won’t know yet, I plan on using her and I wonder if you could make a new MSP in this game, Magneto/Storm/Phoenix thoughts?

That would be kinda hard. What would be Jean’s AA? Psylocke’s Psyblade was pretty magical. You could OTG with it, start combos, extend combos, and of course stop rushdown. I don’t think Jean has something like that.

Anyone notice how ambiguos her overhead teleport seems to be? In one of the gameplay vids, she teleported over Haggar and you can see that she does cross over (Haggar faces the other way) but when the dive kick out of it hits, it hits him as if he wasn’t crossed over. This could lead to some interesting trap shenanigans, especially when combined with the absolute guard removal glitch on pushblock.

Has anyone come across a movelist for Phoenix yet?
