Wouldn’t work as Dark Phoenix is only triggered if she’s the last character left.
I wouldn’t focus on forming a strategy around Dark Phoenix that’s really just an added bonus. Phoenix seems like another version of Storm with rush down and keep away tactics. It looks like she has realllllyyyy bad stamina as it doesn’t take much to kill her but they’ve attempted to balance it out with the healing super and resurrection. I think the potential of this character is going to be heavily dependant on the team composition. She looks strong as is but I think with the right team she could be ridicuously good.
Ummm, you can clearly see in the reveal trailer she has her other teammates alive when she is fighting Zero as Dark Phoenix…

What makes you say that? If you watch the reveal trailer there is a scene with her in dark phoenix form with 2 other teammates alive and well. Besides, my post was about what would have been possible if her regeneration worked like uriens it wasn’t a legitimate strategy.

Looking at the trailer for 12th time, during DP mode, some of her normals hit like 4-6 times (O_o), doesn’t look too healthy for damage scaling.
Okay, I was not excited for Jean but holy shit. The tri-jumps were dirty, the projectiles, THE FLOATERS, the transformations. My body was not ready, and I haven’t even watched the Haggar video. Leave it to Capcom to make me hate a shitty character a little less.

Nice find. So it very well may be possible to DP and then quickly build up a meter to activate that with. Wonder if it simply “stops” the health drain, or if it would just deactivage DP altogether.
There’s probably not too much to worry about Dark Phoenix. She seems to be heavily rushdown oriented, so it’s not like you can’t get in and mix people up that try to turtle out your health drain (TvC S?ki transformed, lol). But these types of characters usually have major flaws to counteract major boons. Only time will tell, but it doesn’t seem like a problem for the moment.

Yeah, for me ‘X-men’ means the actual X-men team, not the franchise universe. And even then, Deadpool doesn’t really feel like an X-men member to me. He’s primarily his own thing.
