I can't control it! - The Phoenix Thread

Yes it should stay since it swaps over to teammates but it would be a massive waste to use it like that imo. I’ll rather save it for a combo while in DP mode (looks like basic x factor combos do like 50%…) and than have 30 secs of healing with massive dmg output.

Still really interested to see if healing shield works in DP mode.

Funnily enough, before this I was pretty meh at the idea of her in a fighting game, something that could be interesting but I wasn’t overly hyped… Now I think she’s almost definitely going to be on my team. At least a couple of them.

This is important to know, especially considering that if it functions like the other phase change supers and her life stops draining when she tags out, you could sit her in the back to regain red life as DP…

I disagree with this though, she has a couple good projectiles and great mobility, obviously she’s not MODOK, but her zoning looks pretty decent. She just has to zone in a more traditional sense rather than creating an obstacle course like MODOK or Dormammu or Trish do.

“cosmic pyrokinesis” is one of the powers she gains as Phoenix. At least according to one of the marvel wikis.

KFC does affect the whole team, even assists from what I’ve seen.

But KFC is cancelled if the character dies, isn’t it? So, shouldn’t entering DP mode cancel it?

Positive I saw on yesterdays stream that the 2nd remaining character with x factor on got killed and the last remaining member jumped it with it on.

I guess I saw it happening in a older build then.

In this case, I don’t think there should be any reason for her not to keep KFC.

LOL!

Also, Cyclops confirmed for DLC. :smokin:

She makes SSF4’s Seth look tanky.

Cuz your team dies but is resurrected. It makes more sense if its gone with all those buffs anyway

DPh users will play rushdown with Jean. High risk high reward and if die, build five bar with some good battery and meter management.

But normal Jean users will probably be better with playing a keepaway and using her healing shield to stop rushdown. Safer but not as much reward.

So which one? Keepaway or rushdown? Steady damage or big ass gamble?

Thank you for this, I kno people mean for DP= Dark Phoenix, but every time I read it I think Dragon Punch…

Looks like picking Phoenix is going to be a huge gamble in itself to be honest.

Yeah picking her will be bad but the keepaway version is a much less gamble. Her rushdown seems too much roulette where her keepaway is more like texas hold em.

Bitch got hit four times and she was on her last legs. Cyclops, help!

From what we saw last night MODOK/morrigan or MODOK/ryu will give her nightmares.

Big question on my ginormous mind, a very important question for team building with her:
Does her healing shield heal all of your allies in it?

That is the matter of fact question that is VERY important for her longevity online.

Dunno, she still looks pretty good… Her health is absurdly pathetic though. She made Zero look like Thor in terms of damage dealt…

I’m interested to see what else her shield does… In her reveal trailer the healing field stays up around her for a few seconds even after it stops healing her… I’m wondering if that’s just a graphical effect or if there is some secondary property of it.

the field only heals while the other person is within its radius, thats why it stops. She’s gonna be really annoying to play against as a rushdown.

I suppose the tradeoff is with her low health, you can either use that OR save up for dark mode.

Nah it must last a certain amount of time and you only regain red health while your opponent is in the shield, so you can’t just activate it and run away.

Phoenix is either going to be absolutely terrible, or one of the best in the game… There doesn’t really seem to be a middle ground for her. Although, dying in 5-6 hits (literally) is a bit too extreme. Unless you really DO start with 5 bars… But I highly doubt (and sort of hope) that that’s the case.

If heals your allies as well, THC it with a projectile/beam non physical hyper with your opponent in the corner. WHY I ask. Could heal on point character as well.
