Wish they at least threw in Maki…she fits, according to the timeline. Guess I’ll never get a console Guy vs Maki matchup…
I’m thinking V-Ism’s going to be pretty effective against the Pre Zero 3 cast, Sure the A3 characters can’t flip in this match-up but neither can they. It makes their Variable Combos a lot easier and relaxing to execute. Although, a lot of the Pre Zero 3 cast have different hit boxes aswell so we’ll probably see a whole range of new VC’s. OTG’s still work (as far as I remember, I’ve tested a whole load of shit today to remember it all) although it seems there is some sort of Juggle laws aginst the Pre A3 (I’m not an A3 player so knowing me it’s probably nothing new).
I remember 2 things about Alpha 1 Dan: whenever he threw you, even though he had the same throws as Ryu and Akuma, he tossed you farther than they ever could. And whenever he kick ac’ed you, you’d fly back farther than was normal. Does he have these abilities in HSFA when you play him in A-1 ism?
Actually VCs on non-A3 character are a crapshoot. Neutral states, as discussed above, are a lot tighter pre-A3 so sometimes VCs won’t work.
I once tried Akuma’s scrub anti-air VC (VC1, jab dp->[fierce fb->flip punch]x n) on CE Ken and on A2 Ryu and the fireball just passed through the opponenet’s body as they were falling. Then a few tries later, the fb connected. Its pretty inconsistent.
This might have been covered, but what are the differences between regular and Upper A3?
Oh by the way Akuma the colour edit is R1, not R2. My bad…
alright, post edited.
any more news about more findings?
thanks agains for the heads up Demon
I guess I’ll mention it here and in the other thread I guess, since people seem to be checking both this thread and the other.
c/p of my post from GC:
I’d just like to mention the BGM for the specific Isms in HSFA which I noticed. Of course these are character dependent, and will depend on whether or not said character appeared in said game.
Alpha - Alpha (CPS2)
Alpha 2 - Alpha 2 (CPS2)
Alpha 2 Gold - Alpha 2 (PSX/Saturn Arrange)
Alpha 3 Normal/Mazi/Saikyo X-Ism - SSF2/ST (CPS2)
Alpha 3 Normal/Mazi/Saikyo A/V-Ism - Alpha 3 (CPS2)
Alpha 3 Classic - WW/CE/HF (CPS1)
Alpha 3 Green S-Ism / Red S-Ism - Alpha 3 (CPS2)
Alpha 3 Blue S-Ism - ST (3DO Arrange)
Alpha 3 Pink S-Ism - WW/CE/HF (CPS1)
Also in the sound test for some reason, not only does it include the aforementioned music above, but it also includes BGM from the Super Nintendo port of Alpha 2, the CPS1 version of Alpha 1, the PSX/Saturn arranged tracks of Alpha 1, and for some reason the CPS2 and PlayStation Arranged music (complete with the Sakura image song: “I want you to know”) of Puzzle Fighter. Makes you think they were thinking about putting in Puzzle Fighter but changed their minds in the last minute. lol
Or maybe it is there and everyone’s too busy playing hyper to come across it… Final Fight music is sposedly there aswell.
Hmm, if what you say about the FF music is true, then those songs I didn’t recognize that sounded CPS1-like that didn’t sound like any Street Fighter could possibly be FF. Haven’t played FF in years so I can’t remember. X_x
Anyway I did try to see if you could unlock Puzzle Fighter, besides the standard games that need to be beaten, I beat all the arranged games as well (Alpha 2, Zero 2 Dash, Zero 3 (Arranged), and Zero 3 Upper), and nothing showed up, and holding select on Pocket Fighter doesn’t do anything. =/
Who knows it could or could not be in there. =x
yeah i’ve done all survival modes and dramatic battle modes too… nothing. I think if there’s anything else in there you’ll have to 1 round the games on high level or something. I remember you used to get special endings on the old console versions, maybe it’s the same here.
Or, of course, there’s nothing else to find and all those tracks can be atributed to certain character matches in hyper.
Are the supers in the “Marvel-ism” powered up, as well? I.E. Ryu’s beam Shinkuu?
ite, i found a “cheat” lol.
if you play alpha 3 arrange (i was playing alpha 3 upper), hold start and press down whilst your on classic mode, you can get the shadowloo ism. didnt notice any difference other then shin bison, so meh… whatever
No, and that’s the thing, it’s not really a “Marvel-ism” at the end of the day and is just the “Shin Bison-ism” really.
Like Red S-Ism Sakura isn’t exactly MSF/MvC2 Sakura, she’s a weird mix of the Marvel Sakura and Sunburned Sakura. She has the upward ground fireball, big regular fireball, air big fireball, Akuma teleports and Raging Demon.
The same is said about some other versions, while many just have like 1 move taken from the Versus and given to them as a bonus. And the rest of the cast doesn’t get anything new.
Some weird things are like Akuma getting the 3S Super air fireball instead of his Marvel Super air fireball from the Versus games.
Oh yeah if people didn’t notice yet, picking Evil Ryu in Red S-Ism lets you use his Akuma transformation from MvC1, well sorta.
EDIT: Regarding the FF music thing, if you play Cody/Guy/Rolento/Sodom in Classic mode, you get all their old CPS1 Final Fight music.
And for some reason if you use Guy in X-Ism you will get the CPS1 Alpha 1 BGM, but if you use other A1 characters like Birde or Charlie in X-Ism you just get the regular A3 music, how odd. =x
Still no answer for the Puzzle Fighter music though. :xeye:
QUESTION ABOUT AN OPTION FOR ALPHA/ZERO…WHAT IS THIS? Tengu Walking juggle extender: e.g Shinkuu Tatsu-> jumping strong-> Shinkuu Tatsu is now possible when this switch is enabled: on/off
…THANX.
hmmmm
wasnt there a code to add more stars… to make the game harder… or was that something else???
do the parry groove ism characters have a forward and back dash?
Nope.
Why is it that the on/off little symbol sometimes pops up under between the super bars in a match? Or is it not randomly?
I think that happens when someone chooses Mazi mode.
