The movelist in-game has pretty much all the moves, at least last time I checked.
US Alpha Anthology doesn’t have movelists.
So, reading the BradyGames SFAA guide, it has a Recommended dipswitch setting for each Alpha game. However, there is no mention on Alpha 2 Gold. Should it be left on default or switched to it’s only other version?
Is there a comprehensive list of what version each game should be on?
Thanks for info, that is very helpful but not nearly as easy as it was it pick them with the “easy select” of the saturn/ps1 versions. the following is straight from the official SFA1 strategy guide i bought 10 years ago. the following codes allow you to unlock the “easy select” dan, akuma, and m. bison. I was wondering if someone is willing to test them out on the SFAA version of SFA1. Thank you.
Dan: “beat the game on level 6 difficulty and defeat computer controlled dan. it doesn’t matter if you continue or change characters as long as you fulfill the first two requirements.” To fight computer controlled Dan you must start the game with any character except dan and use the same win quote five times in a row. to select win quotes you have to hold up, down, left or right while holding down 3 buttons. i do not know which buttons you are supposed to hold down.
M. Bison: "beat the game on level 8 difficulty and defeat Bison as the final boss. it doesn’t matter if you continue or change characters as long as you fulfill the first two requirements."
Akuma: “you must defeat akuma as the eight opponent.” To fight computer controlled Akuma you must play on difficulty level 5 and choose any character except Akuma. If you are on player 1’s side you must choose player 1’s color. If you are on player 2’s side you must choose player 2’s color. Now you must defeat the first seven character without continuing. You also need to win at least 10 rounds with a super combo finish.
Is the color edit option available in the american release of SFAA? I hold R1 on display adjust (I havent seen anything that says disply option), but nothing seems to happen.
***If you press Select on a button in controller configuration the button will turn purpleish and make that button into Turbo.
Don’t know if that’s new or not.
Also anyway to fight the computer in versus mode?
Mr. Epstein, please check your PMs.
Is their a Colour edit mode for HSFA? or I’m I pressing the right buttons??
I got the editer on all but HSFA.

For anyone bothered by no details on Alpha 2 Gold EX character versions, I went through and made a big list of differences for EX characters versus the regular A2G characters, but in the end A2G never had a competitive scene and it never will, and space/time were issues already (again, we got a build of the game the day of the guide deadline, which is why there are a few errors in the guide regarding some settings and dipswitch stuff, among other things) so we said screw it. If A2G was important to you, I’m sorry, but you’re in the minority.
For anyone bothered by no character breakdowns of DeeJay/FeiLong/THawk/Guile (apparently this really bothered some people), we didn’t know Upper/HSFA were in until the last minute basically, and made a decision to not do a section for the upper characters. Again, much like A2G, this decision was based on that A3 Upper never had a competitive arcade scene here. This is also why there was not more detail about HSFA and the new Isms. That was all very last minute.
I believe Kamui has a list of what every dipswitch setting actually does but got it too late to include in the guide, and he’s on a trip right now anyway. When he gets back at the end of the month, we’ll be working on A3 frame data to put on the Bradygames site, as well as a tutorial/combo video or two. We’ll consider throwing A3 Upper character profiles on there along with dipswitch settings too (assuming Kamui actually did get a list of them, and I didn’t just see that in a dream or something).
Finally, the editors actually made some mistakes editing so some minor details are wrong, and occasionally a phrase or two doesn’t really make sense. There are also places where they formatted a screenshot or two incorrectly (like in the Alpha Essentials section, when I talk about cross-ups, there are two screenshots and I say “As you can see, Sakura blah blah blah” and obviously that should be a screenshot of Sakura MK from the front, and Sakura MK crossing up and hitting from the back, but instead it’s a pic of Karin stand RH and a pic of like, Sakura landing kick throw. I’m sure most people can tell it was obviously just formatted wrong but for a complete noobie it might be confusing). I’m going to compile a corrections list for the guide; whether Brady will want that on their site or not, I don’t know yet. If they don’t I’ll just post it someplace here.[/quote]
I am interested in a the breakdown of the EX A2G characters as well as the A3Upper characters. Could you post these on Brady’s website? Thanks
Anyone?
The color edit mode is still in.
Hold R2 down and select Display mode.
…it doesn’t work in HSFA
Yep which is fucking stupid since it’s probably the most played game on the collection.
Quick HFSA extra options question: In the Secrets FAQ on GameFAQs, the section on Extra Options for HFSA mentions an option to revert the command for throws to 1 button, instead of A3 style PP / KK. I can’t find anything like that in the US version - was this only present in the JPN version, or are there more than 3 pages of extra options to unlock?
That’s not in Hyper. That option is only in the Street Fighter Alpha 3’s.
Is there a way to play the Computer in versus mode??? There has to be a secret in there.
^Go to exit and press start.
How do I access the dipswitch options? Someone please help me out.
BTW. have any of you tried Evil Ryu with Marvel-ism? Sick as fuck.
That doesn’t work. And I’m talking about the American Version.
Go to options and then game options. You’ll see something that says Player 2 Human. Change that to Player 2 COM. You’ll have to have a controller in player 2’s port for it to work because you’ll have to select the computers fighter with player 2’s controller. This works for all the games in the collection.
