Hugo's supers

I wanna start a post to talk hugo hardcore… I been playing hugo since 2nd impact was released and hugo was better in 2nd impact but i managed to work with the toned down 3rd strike hugo…

first of all super choice… hugo is the only character that does not have a BEST super all his supers can be used… and because of that u have 3 different fighting styles with him… super is also determined by who you are fighting… I pick super depending on what character Im fighting… for instance Ill pick super 2 or 3 for the yingyang twins (yeeAAA!!!) for fighting strat reason… shorter bars vs a rushdown opponent (this is the only game that doesn’t build bar from block hits) so if you pick gigas you probably will never land that grab cuz ur trying to counter a rushdown character and blocking won’t build that bar vs building a 2 or 3 super and landing that… the kungfu twins take big damage from ALL of hugos super… :karate:
plus a super2 using the lk version grabs dive kicks :badboy: :badboy:

feedback is imperative or hugo will haunt you :devil:

Your on the right track but not there yet.Hugo is all about parring.If you can parry pick another character.My friend plays hugo and gives me the most competion vs anyone else.

He uses sa1.Empty jump parry to super.=death for yun/yang
Sa1 can grab sweeps and can get you out of setups.Sa1 beats other supers.The grab range on sa1 is more nasty at least sweep range.

It doesnt matter if your playing against rushdown characters parry to 360 a few times and watch them stop rushing you.Hugos about parrys not supers but his best is sa1 and sa3.

Actually playing Hugo is all about knowing how to block well and using your pokes… Parrying is too risky/random to try to do the entire match.

Well I noticed that Hugo is all about timing. Parry is a big part, but not all of it. For the SA’s i go with “Hammer Frenzy”. SA1 is only for the superberparryman! SA2 does to little damage to be effective. You can practice your 360’s they do like the same amount of damage. POKE! POKE!, mix up your game. d^_^b

as for the guy that said its all parry with hugo… no parry helps hugo advance vs high level play… I play in austin,tx whenever I can home of the top 3s players and parry happy peeps get wrecked on!! but yes parry is a big part of hugos game but don’t depend on parry. now the RED parry is in hugos favor… Ive done some experimenting with alot of characters and hugo has the largest red parry frame making it easier for hugo than most characters to red parry… from my hugo playing experience… parry jumpin gigas only works on scrubs… high level play your opponent will try to make u use your bar and after they bait you to do your gigas… its like the match pace changes after you build your gigas… its all mind games

now sa2 vs twins… do lk version to grab dive kicks… don’t have to worry bout if their doing a fake dive kick to land in front of you or plan on hitting you with it you don’t have to worry about parry just grab dat ass!!! and it does almost half damage on em so they get scared…

SA3, is the only choice.

I’m playing against a remy a lot, (was the first reason for me to start posting on this forum, and still is why i come back to read new tactics :rolleyes: ) but i’ve been experimenting with the sa2 vs him a lot, i often grab him out of a blocked super, [2],8k and 214k giving me a lot more pressure towards him.
