Huge-fighting-franchise-to-return-at-e3

Oh, I thought you meant TTT2 and Tekken 7 were on the way.

L-Canceling should’ve never existed.

I don’t believe it… can it… be?

VARIABLE GEO!?

I hope it’s not DOA.

CvS3 please!!!

I think by the way it’s written, it wont be a new crossover game…
Reasons:

  1. It was a franchise to make a return. Ideas of a Nintendo v. Capcom wont be making a “return”
  2. I feel like a cross-company “franchise” is not in line with the definition of a “franchise”. I don’t think a Capcom v. SNK is a franchise in the respect that Street Fighter or KoF are.
  3. “Return” would indicate to me something that was thought to be dead, so I don’t think it’s a new Tekken or a newer game like Blazblue, but they’re still possible.

As for games making returns, not counting handhelds…
“huge” would mean big-sellers. MK already had it’s shine, and several new Tekkens are announced (Tag, TekxSF). VF, while updated hasn’t had a new release in a few years, though it is still slightly possible it’s a new Tekken game… SC5 was already announced as well.

I think that the logical ones are:
DoA (as much as I hate that)
Tekken (possible)
Virtua Fighter (another likely)
Capcom vs SNK (slightly possible)
Smash (or was this announced?)
Random Capcom games (eg. Rival Schools, Darkstalkers, or Power Stone - though all 3, I don’t think are likley as they’re not really… “huge”, DS being the most popular, I think)
Old SNK games? Fatal Fury? Samurai Showdown? etc.
Guilty Gear x3? (somewhat likely, since it was already said that GG wont continue without BB finishing, or something to that extent?)
Blazblue 3? (possible)

Other than that, I don’t think any others are possible. Though feasable, I don’t think it will be anything but one of those games.

Everybody is saying CVS3, Darkstalkers, PowerStone, etc. but i think another Capcom fighting title announcement is HIGHLY unlikely. Think about what is on Capcom’s plate already for the next 18 months at least. SSF4AE, Marvel vs Capcom 3 (DLC & its possible upgrade), SF3 ThirdStrike Online, SF X Tekken. They want to maximize profit on each of these titles & want you to be hype about SF x Tekken for the most part. You won’t hear anything about Darkstalkers until 4th Quarter 2011 @ the earliest & SF x Tekken is a few weeks away into our hands.

I want Killer Instinct 3, but its probably Dead or Alive (Tecmo will try to double whammy it w/ Ninja Gaiden 3) or Smash Bros.

Why Dead or Alive? We just had a 3DS release recently.

Isn’t said release a remake or something? Hardly sounds like a new entry to me.

who said remake?

I honestly think they mean Soul Calibur V. I know it’s already been announced, I just think they mean we’ll see gameplay footage of it for the first time. Game journalists don’t consider possibilities like a Garou 2, Last Blade 2 etc. as huge.

I don’t mean to be negative, I just don’t want to set myself up for disappointment like so many are in this thread. I think a new fighter would be great news.

The article says “SC5 has already been announced”

I honestly think it’s going to be a new console DoA or Smash. BEST CASE, and here’s hoping… VF6

I don’t think most mainstream gaming journalist would even ACKNOWLEDGE the existence of an SNK game. Let alone report on it.

DOA5, SSB4, KI3, DS4 or VF5FS. I think those 5 games are the only real possibilities atm.

You haven’t been outside of the states.

What does that have to do with anything?

Oh Ono will find a way.
Make way for 1f L-cancels and 1f wavedashes.

All jokes aside, why does my heart hurt so much. Every time I here “Capcum, Vs. S-N-K-2. Millionaire fighting. 2001” beum beum He said it with such enthusiamsum. Like Capcom AND SNk thought it was gonna be huge. So much attention to detail. From a godlike announcer, to godlike soud fx, to godlike music, they put they’re all into this one. It makes me sad about how perhaps the pinnacle of fighters has gotten zero love. No HD port, Online fuctionality taken away (as shitty as it was), an dis overall forgotten.

If there is no CvS3, Can I AT LEAST get CvS2HDR with K’ and Deejay added to the cast.

SNK games are extremely popular pretty much everywhere except the US. At least that’s what I’ve gathered.

Hate to break this to you, but Capcom can’t touch the popularity that SNKP has in a lot of markets.

Again, what does any of that have to do with the conversation at hand?

You said no one would acknowledge a SNK game.
