So recently I bought a ps2 HRAP from shpock for £30 ($35) and that price included postage/shipping LOL.
Anyway, I’ve been discussing some of these details with another member of SRK and he believes it might be modded.
I opened it up and the buttons are sanwa. But I’ve noticed that the buttons should be green and these ones are a mixture of dark and light blue (I had to rearrange them with disconnects etc). I can’t tell much from the pcb either. It even has tekken 6 on the back huh? Is this a custom stick?

The next point I’m getting too is that I bought a Ps2 to gamecube adapter so i can use it on my Wii. Ok so I’ve checked the converter compatability thread and hrap threads trying to find the answer but seems a bit confusing.
I bought this converter as it was a 3in1 converter (i could use it later on pc or the orignal xbox too)…and so i plugged it into the gamecube port on the wii and it doesn’t recognise the hrap (FuckityFuck)…however I plug an official ps2 pad in and voila it recognises that , so I remove the ps2 pad and now stick the hrap back in… And now it recognises the hrap and everything from there is plain sailing.
Is there any ps2 to gc/wii converter that recognises the hrap without me having to plug a ps2 pad in first?
‘Cube joybox’ would this work or just do the same as the 3in1 converter ?

In regards to the stick not being picked up by the converter, that may be because there is no analog sticks on the pcb
From personal experience, I have had difficulty with ps to xxx converters when my ps stick is just a digital pcb padhack, I have no problems with ps analogue controller pcb’s
I could never get Namco sticks to work on ps to og Xbox, but my psone analogue pad hacked sticks were good
So maybe when you stick your ps2 pad in the converter it switches on because it detects analogue aswell, then when you put the stick back in you can just use the digital d pad
Most likely you have a tekken 6 hrap ex and the pcb has been swapped out

Yeah it deffo seems that it picks so we thing up in the ps2 control pad first. I’m just glad I can put the hrap in after it.
Do you think the cube joybox would let me bypass this? Its strange because the mayflash universal stick just plugs and plays no bosh. Works perfect but it’s a horrible stick so…
It’s going to be trial and error, it’s not worth the hassle or wasting money on
You only have to do the swap once when you turn on the system, so no big thing, not like you have to keep doing it

Yeah it’s not too much hassle tbh, I had a look at some of the gc converters , i might buy one and if it still does the same thing I’ll leave both converters plugged in so friends can use ps2 pads on the wii also.

Looks like the the previous owner replaced the base metal panel with one from the tekken 6 hrap ex, most likely because it was rusty
It originally would have came with green hori buttons soldered to the pcb. So it’s been upgraded to sanwa. The lever would have originally been a jlf.
The 2 yellow buttons are probably still hori, most don’t upgrade them
Nice1. I’m glad it’s got sanwa buttons as I feel comfortable with them (although I’m not sure if I’ve ever tried hori buttons or not)
I once had a wireless ps3 V3 hori stick a while back (black and red stick) im assuming that will have been hori buttons.
So this og hrap should take an octagonal gate no problem?

yeah it will take an octo gate easily, just pop off the square and drop it in
