Only Sanwa makes octagonal gates for their JLF series. Seimitsu has no such part.
With that said, putting on a octagonal gate for a JLF isn’t too hard from what I hear. It should be something like pushing a few tabs to get the old gate out and just snapping in the new one.
I just got done modding my HRAP 2 with sanwa buttons and everything went smoothly. Now all I need to do is put some custom artwork on it and I’ll be set.
What is the exact model# of those buttons? I like the color a lot, but when I checked out some online stores for seimitsu buttons, I didn’t find anything with that same color. Is it just violet or some other special color?
They’re Seimitsu PS-14-K buttons. You can get them off of www.akihabarashop.com but you better hurry because Seimitsu has stopped the production of those buttons. They’re still shipping out what stock they have left.
Haha, nah, any helpful information is appreciated. Functionality is important, but the particular color combination and style (the slightly see-through rims and that certain shade of purple) of those particular buttons are what caught my eyes.
If the OBSF-30’s have the same sort of style and that black/grey color strikes my fancy, I’ll get those if the PS-14-K’s are not available.
Daaaaaamn, my bad ddrcata…I just realised you were referring to Tingboy’s mod on the first page and not the picture of th mod on the second page, LoL!! Sorry
Paypal. Use the site’s excel file, type in the number of things you need. On the first page, you’ll get the price for parts and parts + shipping. It’s pretty self explanatory. Just look at the Akihabarashop.com thread for more help.
Hmm, not sure if my question should go in this thread or the main HRAP FAQ! Anyway, I’m wondering how easy it would be to take out and re-insert the turbo switches, as several people here have mentioned it, but AFAIK nobody has really gone into any detail on how it’s done! I’m tempted to get them painted so they match my colour scheme, but I I just wanted to know if anyone had any advice on this before I rush in and try it.
Actually it’s pretty simple. Someone had asked this question before and I sent him some pictures on how to do it. I’ll post those pictures up on the first post.
First of all I have to say great guide TingBoy. My question for you, which of these 2 should I buy if I want remove the square gate in my current stock hrap2?
I played on Jason Cole’s stick (which was modified with one of the 8 way restrictors) and I could do double qcf easily as compared to my horrendous struggles on the original stock.
Also, would you happen to have a quick guide to installing one of these…i’m a complete novice to this type of stuff.
You would want the Sanwa GT-Y Octagonal Restrictor Plate. That’s the only restrictor plate that fits the stock HRAP2 stick (Sanwa JLF).
As for installing one, I don’t actually own one myself, but it should be pretty easy. On the bottom of the stick should be 4 tabs holding onto the clear plastic square restrictor. Just push in these tabs and pop off the square restrictor, then pop on the octagonal restrictor. The octagonal restrictor can only go on one way (I think), so there’s no way to screw up. If you really need pictures, lemme know.
