Alex’s SA1 has zero frame startup, reaches halfscreen, and does 90% damage.
Second Impact had this thing where if you were Alex and were playing against a shoto, if the shoto did full screen fireball and you parried it into Hyper Bomb, it would grab from full screen.
That sounds like something you could do in the SF2 games, with Zangief: if you timed it correctly, you could “SPD” your opponent’s fireball. It was something like one frame timing though. I wonder how that glitch got back into SF3:2I, it’s gotta be some easy-to-repeat programming error.
Anyway, I’m not going to read a 9-page, 3-year-old thread on 3S rebalancing, since it will probably be painful and cringeworthy. However I would like to put an idea forward for other people to think about. Just a little change to Third Strike, something small.
Hold MP+MK to do an empty UOH. The game would be a bit more interesting.

seems more like something from an arcsys game where every function needs like 3 forms because they’re all hyper specific with limited individual utility.
I remember when 3sOE came out a lot of people wanted re-balancing. I disagree, 3s should be left the way it is imo even though there’s some broken ass shit in this game I think it’s what makes it so good. If anything I’d give yun a shorter bar for GJ and give everyone else a GJ super which is the length of yun original bar.
Nah all jokes aside if it did get a re-balance hypothetically speaking it’d just suck just like SF4’s rebalancing the few cool things that game had in vanilla (loops on characters etc) have all been removed due to people crying. I think we’re very lucky 3s came out in the era that it did, can you imagine if it released now?..

If i had to rebalance the game , i would just fixed the cr.MK bug of Chun Li , because beside that , she’s perfectly balanced .
She was created to have a strong ground game ( zoning ) , few combos , a pure zoning character , different to an Elena for example who has less strong ground game but more combos available .
But the cr.MK bug made her ground game way to strong .

She has 2 cancel windows on her cr mk, which gives you more time to confirm. Not sure if it’s a bug unless there aren’t any other moves in the game like that?
Looking at her frame data you’re right, there are two cancel windows, though it lists having two frames of being able to cancel after the move is already done so I’m not sure how accurate that is. Doesn’t seem like a bug though.
