I believe they would as one of the main things they did in umvc3 was make sure every character had some kind of otg whether super, normal, or special.
My dream MvC3 Cable:
Crackdown: :l: & versions stun, while :h: wall bounces. Instead of feint canceling like Viper, he can gun cancel the stun versions using :s: to continue the combo.
Scimitar: Invinc at the beginning. Can gun cancel just after leaving the ground using :s: to AHVB.
Grenades: Same as MvC2
Viper Beam: :l: version bends up. version bends down. :h: version allows player to control beam but has slower startup.
Time Flip: lvl3. Completely invincible. 50k unscaled, but completely resets hit stun, bounces and allows further comboing after. Comboable.
Hyper Viper Beam: Same as MvC2
Assists:
Viper Beam: First bends high, then low
Scimitar: like any other DP assist
Grenade: Throws grenade up-forward

srk is psimitar
crackdown would have to be something like a reverse srk or an hcf which could mean overlapping inputs :shudder: or maybe qcf S is crackdown which ALWAYS causes walbounce
Usually it is, but Viper uses :s: to feint also. It works really well.
I don’t mind reverse DP motions actually. Though it be weird for Crackdown, I wouldn’t have a problem. QCF+S could work, but i really like the idea of Cable having feints. I think he’d need something extra since a lot of what made him good was MvC2’s engine.
As a side, Crackdown was my favorite Cable special in MvC2. I don’t think people used it enough.
why is nobody mentioning command grab?
id prefer qcf for crackdown, a reverse srk would make it useless IMO.
and crackdown was really underrated but it was alot of the times just easier to do HK in sjc AHVB. unless youre styling in the corner and you do HK crackdown off of drones or doom rocks and tk AHVB

Would work more like a feint. I think if messed with MvC3 Viper some, you’d get a better handle of what I’m thinking. She can cancel her specials mid animation by using :s: and restart the combo:
LMH => Thunder Knuckle => Feint ( :s: ) => LMH =>
Thunder Knuckle => Feint => LMH => Launcher, etc
Viper’s actual feints don’t do damage, but with Cable being ranged, I think it’d help if his game a tiny bit to allow him to further combo (or continue a blockstring) and I think a single bullet would do that well.
Cable isnt really a feint character though but i suppose itd be neat

Honestly I don’t know how he’d fair and if I was to guess … not so well.
Teleports give a lot of zoners a hard time so zoning will never be the dominate strategy of this game.
He’d lose his easy mode guard break so have a harder time getting damage.
He’d need buffs to make top tier in this game, but depends on the properties they give everything to be honest. If you couldn’t duck his gun like Weskers then we’d be talking but if you could absolutely no chance of making even high-tier.
I just feel like he’ll need some reinvention because a lot of the things that made him good in MvC2 just aren’t there anymore. And as mentioned, there are a ton of teleporters hanging around.

Crackdown: :qcf::l:. Same range and properties as Nemesis’ clothesline. Grab punishable and wall bounces.
Viper Beam: :qcf: and :qcf::h: Same as MvC2 medium and fierce versions. Let him bend it up and down.
Psimitar: :dp::l:, :dp:, :dp::h: Heavy version OTGs.
Gunshot: :f:+:h: Same as MvC2.
Grenade: :hcb::l:, :hcb: Hold on button press for hold long it goes and release for contact.
New move: +:h: a counter. He holds up the cybernetic arm and reverses all physical attacks that aren’t low or hypers. He slams them down for a ground bounce. comboable. And special and super cancellable on whiff.
Hyper Viper Beam: No need to change it. Let it bend up and down and OTG.
Time Flip: LvL3. Astral Magic-like properties. And unlike MvC2, FULL ANIMATION ON OTG.

The reason why i think Cable should be in the game is because he impacted the MVC series. He is one of the top metagame icons of the versus series.
This roster has faces who represent different teams, characters with upcoming movie projects, classic capcom characters, recent Capcom characters, and popular MvC characters who changed the meta-verse of marvel and made it great: The MVC1 gods (Strider and Wolverine) and the MVC2 gods (Sent, Storm, Mags). Cable is missing. He has impacted the culture greatly so he deserves to make it in more than any marvel character IMO.
I support Cable in UMvC3 if he comes with a boulder punching minigame vs Chris.
tk grenades and super start up time would be his saving grace… if those are both ok then he’d be alright.
It would allow him to control space and keep those teleporters out. AHVB would have to be at least as fast as Doc stranges super.
As far linking them into each other, forget it, unless its x-factored.
