How to win his fireball game?

I’m confused what is actually good with Dee jay for fireball wars, is there a move that can go through fireballs or some kind of technique. Please someone explain this to me

Cr.hk to slide under or ex dreadkicks

Is that true…, I’ve tried some of those things but I all ways get nailed with plasma. Maybe I’m not doing it right idk.

It’s the timing. For both moves, the fireball has to be pretty much directly in front of you.

I have a hard time with the cr.hk (slide) since it also depends on the speed of the fireball. It’s more strict than the ex-Sobat.

Yeah, I hear that alot.
cr.HK slide is pretty much your only option if you either don’t have an EX gauge handy or you don’t feel like using it for whatever reason (supers, set-ups, etc.)
But, again, this requires timing and patience to master and even folks who have put the time into really getting this down still get hit from time to time.

This slide would be BEASTLY on fireball happy shotos if that other leg didn’t stick straight up in the air. That leg is what’s "eating plasma."
But the slide is also a very under-used and underrated AA if you suspect your opponent is short or safe jumping for mix-ups or what have you.

One thing that hasn’t been mentioned:

Jump.

Jump-in, Focus dash them, neutral jump, EX.

You won’t win the fireball game.

True on all the other options, but slide keeps your charge.

exactly you guys with your crazy jump ideas

In my experience, slide under a fireball to gain some ground, and if they throw another one, EX Dread Kick through it.

Don’t try to win a fireball war, or even score any damage, with EX Maxout. The second hit comes too slowly.

Sometimes the player will anticipate the fireball that you slide under striking you, and will try to throw another one before the first dissipates (resulting in a whiffed normal). This isn’t really too useful to you unless you’re fighting a Ryu player throwing fierce fireballs, because he will whiff a F+Fierce which can be easily identified and punished.

short hop works too against someone trying to fireball trap
