I’m new to T.Hawk and really enjoy playing him. The only thing I haven’t figured out yet is how to use Condor Spire. When watching some replays it seems like it’s mostly used for footsies for setting up 360s. Any other uses? Maybe an option on wakeup after getting knocked down since it should beat throws and low attacks? Or EX to go through fireballs?<br>
Condor spire is used primarily to get closer on opponents or as a wide frame trap. <div>In general, you’ll want to use them from a distance at which they will barely hit so as to take advantage of their high number of active frames. If you do regular spires too close, the opponent can punish t.hawk on BLOCK AND HIT. <div><br></div><div>USES:<br>-Cancel off a normal to get closer/wide frame trap<br>-Used in footsies when you think the opponent is going to use a low normal since they go over them or if you just want to get closer. </div><div>—Once the opponent is scared of getting hit by spire, you can use light punch spire to land in front of him without hitting and throw/SPD.</div><div>-Done early enough, they can also anti-air well. EX Spire against an airborne opponent leads into a free Manual EX Condor Dive (J + KKK)</div><div>- EX to go through fireballs</div><div>- Option select EX condor spire with jump-ins to beat backdashes</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>I’m not sure how well you understand frame data so i’m going to give you a general idea of the difference between them. <br><div><div><div><br></div><div>Regular Condor Spire:</div><div>- Starts up mega slow (20 frames)</div><div>- Goes over low normals, but not from the beginning (frames 6-19 lower body strike and projectile immunity)</div><div>- Is temporarily airborne, but not from the beginning (airborne frame 8)</div></div></div><div>- Does not knock down</div><div>-Negative on block and hit if done point blank</div><div><br></div><div>Ex Spire:</div><div>-Starts up a little faster (15 frames)</div><div>-Is temporarily airborne, but not in the beginning (frame 8)</div><div>- Goes over low normals</div><div>- Goes through fireballs (frames 1-24)</div><div>-Breaks armor</div><div>-Leads to a techable knockdown on hit, -3 at worst on block</div><div><br></div><div>-According to the SRK Super Street fighter guide, EX spire has a little bit of strike invincibility from frames 6-14 but I have not really tested it. As far as I know from Hoblino’s hitbox thread it does not.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div></div></div>
