How to unsubscribe from threads?

I can’t find the unsubscribe button for threads. I keep getting emailed for new posts. How do I stop it?

Anal sex.

You see the stars at the right side of the thread title?
Click them

I clicked on the star and it just added the thread as a bookmark

What thread are you subscribed to?

(If you mean the yellow numbering that says “new” on the side of threads you’ve (accidentally) clicked on, then unfortunately there’s no escape from those at present.)

That said, @nom, if you just want to stop e-mail, then that should be easy. Just go to the wheel icon at the top right corner of the page, in the forum bar, click “Edit Profile”, then click “Notification Preferences”, and then finally un-check everything that says “e-mail”. That should stop the system from e-mailing you. If it doesn’t, then something’s wrong with your account and you’ll probably have to ask Preppy or something.

So basically it’s all or nothing? I go into preferences and it’s

Notify me of private messages.

So basically I want to get notified when people comment on discussions I’ve participated in but not every single thread. I thought I could opt out of certain threads (especially sticked threads that just goes on forever). I thought that would be a pretty standard forum feature…?

(Unfortunately, no.)

I can’t remember if it used to be before the switch over to “vanilla” years ago, but I’m pretty sure it’s all or nothing nowadays, at least as far as e-mails are concerned.

If you want to be notified when people click on certain threads but not all threads, then just do what Hecatom said and bookmark those threads with the yellow star. The system will PM/notify you on-site, but it shouldn’t e-mail you.
