Hi guys. I’m building a PC arcade joystick.
Today I receivedd my order from arcadeworlduk which includes some Seimitsu PS-14-GN buttons. I have a question please. I cannot see any branding or “made in Japan” or any indication whatsoever that they are genuine parts. I can only see TKC in the underside of the switch. Is this normal? How can I check that these are genuine parts? Many thanks.
iirc just by the microswitch you can tell if the button is genuine or not
TKC is for Tokai company, as it is the (japanese) brand of the switches. These are authentic switches used in authentic seimitsu buttons. Otoh fake sanwas /seimitsus sport chinese switches with a recognizable chinese logo , and having “made in japan” , “sanwa” or “seimtisu” on some other parts is not a guarantee in itself ( eg joystick clones). Torta is right, the switch reveals the fraud usually (along with other details for those who know how to sort them) so you were right to check it out.
Fab. Thanks for taking the time to respond and for the info.
I have this same question for Sanwa’s. They have these imitation Sanwa OBSF-30 clones out there that, are virtually identical to the real thing, and function pretty well in their own right to boot.
Same issue. How would i know if i’m getting Genuine Sanwa parts, or these Well-made bootlegs?
