Tenboss’ tech was the most effective thing I’ve got so far, pressuring and frametrapping people with Palm/SwordsL in close range, and then transitioning into ‘Doctor Defense’ mode from far away whenever possible, with EoA and his other projectiles…
ps: Flocker’s team with Strange replacing Zero is so freaking good, but rushing and zoning. One touch, and anything turns to dust
if the SoV was full screen or just far, use astral vision and start doing :h:+:h: soul fist cancels. if the opponent presses a button, they’ll get caught in the fireballs; even if they don’t, you got free astral pressure. if it’s in the corner, you can DHC into astral vision, super jump and do a :h: shadowblade. the timing is strict and it’s really lame, but that’s all i got.
Yes I agree Dr. Strange/Vergil/Hawkeye is GODLIKE, its the perfect mix of zoning and mixup potential along with instant TOD. The only flaw I see is that it doesn’t have doom missles and it doesn’t utilize TAC’s.
Why not just do it Japan style and run it as x/Strange/Vergil then? You can still utilize TACs, Strange gets Vergil DHC for sure kills, and you have probably the best (cheapest) anchor in the game right now. Rapid Slash is also a great lockdown assist in the corner for the point character (Magneto is a possibility, but I don’t see him converting off Rapid Slash much unless it’s in the corner). Makes a lot more sense to me in this case. I’m pretty sure Strange on point without Haggar assist isn’t going to last in the long run. Bolts and SoV are too good as assets anyway; don’t know why anyone would want to pass up on them by putting Strange on point.
Do you think that Dante could work on point because that was a secondary team that I was looking into. Dante could get 2 mixups off of bolts and can utilize rapid slash. Also he builds lots of meter and has very good resets.
It’s a solid idea. Dante/Strange/Vergil sounds like a very good team. I also think Vergil/Strange would be a better order, because he at least has better start of round options than Strange. If Dante’s in the back for that team, Jam Session would be an excellent assist for fast mixups and easy conversions. Vergil’s so good at opening people up and making them block something anyway that being able to do Spiral Swords loops right away is kind of unnecessary. If you run Weasel Shot, that also gives Strange easy guard breaks in the corner. Running two horizontal assists is kind of overkill, but it’s an option.
The two main teams are Strange/Vergil/Hawkeye since it can be a really hard frame-trapping lockdown or a decent zoning team, and Wesker/Vergil/Strange like you said.
