How to stop "Autopilot"-ing?

About 9 times out of 10 I feel like I am on autopilot. I try to think during the match but most of the time I find myself just reverting to the same patterns.(Focus and Wake up DP) Is there any specific way to stop this our do I have to just tough it out? Any help is appreciated.

Stop trying so hard to win.

Play a different character to shake you out of your thought patterns

Everyone falls into a sort of automatic decision making the more experienced they are. What you want is to be able to autopilot things like movement or AAs while still being able to make the right decisions on wakeup or such.

Yo I have the same problem, it’s usually when I’m losing to someone on one of my side characters, then I switch to cammy and autopilot to win because noone knows the matchup at my level. As much as I like the read-based gameplay that my other characters provide, exposing how bad people’s defense is is too much fun. I feel like I’m becoming worse because my fundamentals are so far behind my execution/setups.

The trick is to stop thinking about what you want to do and start thinking about what your opponent wants to do.

The greatest way to get out of auto piloting is by watching reviews of your match and figuring out what you are missing out on and working on it. once you get used to it, your gameplan will also improve
