Find someone you enjoy and run through their mission mode. As far as recommendations, try Nova or any of the characters that can zone well like Strange, Hawkeye, or Taskmaster. Vergil and Zero are amazing, but I think they require to most flawless execution to play well.
First of all, it’s recommended that you change your team order to Zero/Wesker, Spiderman, Vergil (if you’re set on those three/four characters).
Secondly, it’s best to set a dedicated shoulder button on your controller (if you’re using a gamepad) to Light Attack so that you can charge Zero’s Buster and Vergil’s Round Trip easier.
Thirdly, find the assists that works the best for your team and playstyle. The recommended ones are Zero (Ryuenjin)/Wesker (Samurai Edge), Spiderman (Web Ball), Vergil (Rapid Slash).
There’s a lot more steps to learning the basics of Marvel, but those are the three basic team functions that should be set up before you start combos and fundamentals.
Trish is a versatile character, but that team isn’t going to give her what she needs. For now, I would play whatever you want to play and explore and experimenter with characters and their assist.
If you’re looking for an easy team, Wolvie/Doom/Vergil is a good start.
Pretty much as other people have been saying. Training mode and video tutorials are your friend to understand some basics. Pick characters you like and mess about with their assists and look at how their hyper combos can DHC into each other. I guarantee that if you pick characters you like and just mess about with them, and make something of your own at first you will get more enjoyment than starting out with the ready made strong team shells - play around with those later!
If you try playing online, find someone who is somewhere close to your level and add them as a friend. Play with that person lots in player match and learn things, try things out etc but most importantly HAVE FUN. If you can find more people near your level that’s great, but I’m just not sure how many new players there might be.
Don’t get disheartened if you play people way better than you. It’s a learning process and it takes a long time to get to a decent level, so learning with people around your level and occasionally playing some better people to give you some measure of how you are improving.
If you really enjoy playing the game, it doesn’t matter how good you are just go to some events and enter a marvel tournament, lose and introduce yourself. You won’t regret it.
Man I gotta figure something out haha, I’m slowly getting the hang of this game like comboing and stuff I just don’t understand the mechanics very well
Trish is best at point, yes. If you’re looking to play a team with Trish and Ammy your best bet is Doom. There really is no better choice. He has two of Her most useful assists and Goes really well with ammy.
A good way to learn about the game is actually watching other people (top players) play. You might notice things you wouldn’t have caught had you been playing or see some tactics you hadn’t thought about, like raw tagging to avoid certain supers or something.
Trish is best when you set up an unblockable off of her Round Harvest super. Usually it’ll be something along the lines of Round Harvest, tag out (while it’s still making your opponent block), calling a low assist (Wesker gunshot is popular), and then going for a jump/overhead.
watch top players that use your team or some of your chars and play in burst sessions then flip to a game your more used to. spending a bit of time a day learning movement and bnb’s makes it way easier than grinding it out for 12 hours both due to frustration and the way the human brain learns. cramming for an exam sucks and so does cramming for a game that is intended to relax you and be a hobby
