How to remove hot glue/silicone from a pcb | And USB wires

Hi, i’m installing my paewang on my HRAP3 and i gotta tell you, its been a hell of a work.
The thing is, i’m almost finishing. The last part is that i gotta make an extension of the usb cord so that it fits perfectly inside the hrap.

But the paewang comes with hot glue on top of the contacts. Removing it was easy but now i’m not sure if i’m soldering everything right because it has glue all over the place.

So, how do i remove that glue without damaging the pcb ?

Another thing, the original pinout of the pcb is a 5 usb pin. The first two wires are black. Are they both ground signals or is there any difference between them?

Thanks !

Save me Srk, Save me !

Your right the last two pins are ground, so what I normally do is solder my ground cable to both of them by applying a little bit of extra solder.

With regards to the glue on the usb connection area, I simply just get my nail under the edge of the glue and slowly and easily pull it away from the pcb. For some reason the glue that is used on the paewang seems to be quite rigid and I find it pops right off. I do it alllll the time. Also I find that if you try and heat the glue up it just makes life ALOT more difficult.

Just dont go crazy with it and dont try anything drastic.

Thanks man !
You saved me !!!

You can also use a hair dryer to soften the glue so its easier to remove.
