I’ve been playin Thrax 4 over a year (And my Storm has gotten better), and what I’d learned from forum & top tier players and mvc2 video is patience in da game, how can I learn patience in marvel 2 b a better player??
Think about what you’re doing while you’re playing. Try to think like the other player; start from the character select screen. Think about what his team means, how he might play his team.
Patience comes from expreience. The reason is that you have to recognize what is and isn’t smart. For example, lets say you play thrax storm/sent/cap, and your capcom gets snapped in. you have 1.5 super meter.
Very impatient and dumb would be just randomly tag in who you want to fight with
semi-impatient would be as soon as you get 2.0 meter bar you automatically do ground pound captain sword super and dhc back to sentinel reguardless of where they are at on screen or situation.
patient would be waiting for the “right” (right comes with knowledge, therefore comes with experience, in this case, you would want the opponent to be near the bottom level of the screen before doing the corridor xx captain sword super dhc to sent, that is the safest place) time to dhc out after u get 2.0 meters (so if the situation doesn’t become safe until you have 3 bars, you dont dhc out until u get opportunity)
Pick 3 situations per team that you will concentrate on capitalizing on. When you see these, act. Add more over time.
This advice is brilliant. It took me about 5 years to figure this out on my own…
Didn’t think about that. I’ll try that next time.
…
^Best advice ever…
eh, keep being impatient. makes wins easier for me with my low tier team. or you could take above advice. i was like that in tekken. i learned patience because i kept losing. i was the counter hit combo test dummy for a bit. lol
learn to see and recognize patterns in your opponents game plan. if you are getting hit by something repeatedly it is only because it is working. your opponent will continue to use what is successful and rightfully so. take away his options by analyzing your games either mentally or with a camcorder and correcting those problems. One guy on here told me to keep a log of my games and boy did that help me. Basically attack your impatience issue like you would attack chess(if you are familiar with chess). Take on your weaknesses and don’t make the same mistakes over and over again. For some reason this info is not written down anywhere. Opening tactics. the middle game. the end game. that would elevate marvel players everywhere… Hmmm…
