How to land so you can SJ to do ROM

Hi again. I’am having trouble with the rom (I’am sure you’ve all heard that before). I only have two questions though.

1.) How do I land before the opponet so I can sj. back up and keep the rom going. I basicly can do the lk. lk. addf lk but they always fall to quick.

2.) Is there limits to how the rom can be setup? I doubt it’ll work but Ive been trying to do it off his laucher. However in videos I see my friends watch and the ones I have it seemes people start it from almost anywhere…

Launcher won’t work, however, almost anything else will. You should read the “How to perform ROM” thread.

Here is probably one of the most easy ways to learn it. Call psy AAA, then SJ LK LK and make sure to do the LK’s as SOON as you leave the ground. If you do them quick, you really have all the time in the world to ADDF LK LK. Remember to do the second set of LK’s slower. I really have no idea why you aren’t landing fast enough unless you are not canceling the air dash down/forward quick enough. On the way up (fast lk’s) make sure not to do the addf lk’s unless you around the same height as the other char.

As far as what Magneto can ROM off of, to name a few, SJC S.HK, (psy aaa) cr.lk cr.hk SJC, (psy aaa) cr.lk cr.hk xx hypergrav, cr.HP (launch) sj.HK ADDF LK LK, St.LP St.MP (launch), (in corner) HK grab, Cr.lk Cr.hk (works like Psy)

After you learn it, you can do whatever you want with it, but in general fast up and slow down is the best way to learn ROM.

I’ve got the Psy AAA. sj. lk lk, addf lk down (75%,lol) but how do I cancel the addf that you were talking about?

what? Did you read the ROM thread? cancel?

If you are doing ADDF LK LK then you are doing it right. I’m not really sure what you mean, you SJ LK LK, then hold down and forward and press 2 punches then cancel that really quickly with a light kick into another light kick.

I’m not going to go into ways to do this (claw/slide) as it’s already covered in the first post in the ROM thread.

Yeah I’ve seen that huge ROM threat. I’am not asking you do go into deep detail…sorry. The ROM thread is where I started but still had trouble. I’ll just look at it in more detail again though instead of bothering you. Thanks for your help Parry =)

1.) The best way to keep them in the air is to delay the second lk after the ad/df. For example: launch^hk,ad/df lk,delay lk,sj.lk,lk,ad/df, d/f+lk, delay lk… this will make you land before them plus make them pop up because the lk hits under them.

2.) There is no limit to how the rom can get started really. You can start it off of any lk/lp or hp/hk(that doesn’t cause fly screen) hit in the air you can start if off of anything that pops a character up in the air in the slightest bit. You can start if off anything really but you should worry about starting it off of psy AA or self start like a launch or something.
