Sup people i just started getting alittle competitive in MvC2 what i would like to know how to kill some ones assist with mag i want to know how to set it up because i seen a lot of match vids and i don’t get how to do it all i know is you have to snap out the person main and keep launching the assist with d+hp can some help me out please
you have to snap out the main person and the assist at the same time. it knocks the main character out, but sets the assist up to be OTG’d. after you snap them out, you dash over and c.lk, c.hp the assist as fast as possible. dont miss or the assist will leave the screen.
if the assist character is sentinel you’l have to do c.lk, c.hk, one rep of the rom, then the repeated launches
should i use a assist of my own to cover me or what as of right now i’m trying Msp so should i use psylocke to cover me
You can go for a guard break or a mix up using your assist.
Does anyone have any devastating attack strings using msp to do max damage to an assist semi safely while the opponent’s point char is still out there?
Hmm, usually launch, sj. hp add hp takes off good damage, 5 fierce if they’re not covering the assist. or lk lk psy, tempest/shockwave (point char has to block the tempest shards/shockwave) But one shouldn’t get too carried away hurting the assist as a decent opponent will usually cover it.
Rocket punch is great to punish assists, esp opponents spamming commando, if you have mag/sent a.

If the opponent is up in the air with the assist on the ground; ie storm, sent
and they give you enough breathing room, you can do the OTG 5 fierce more than once to an assist.
If you put alot of pressure on someone, they will occasionaly call their assist to get breathing room, and back up and the same time. Try:
c.RH (sjc) AD/DF sj.RH (land) c.RH (sjc) RH AD/DF RH (land)…
That will bring them back to you pretty quickly lol. Someone like Psylocke eats ALOT of damage from even one rep of that.
Also, i like to abuse e.m. disruptor, the fierce one does hella damage to an assist, and can stop alot of them if timed correctly.
Also, if your back is close to the wall, you can launch an assist into the tempest for a good bit of damage, just be wary of the mobility of your opponent, and be ready to DHC if you need to protect mags from a AHVB or if Storm/Mags look like they are gonna get to you.
^ haha, i did something like that today, i had 1/10th life for mag and storm and he had half life cable and his commando assist was 90% red health and he called capcom and was in the corner i did some trijump that was blocked and went into tempest and iw as going to go to storm but the assist was gettinged killed so i was like whawhawha. and then i rushed him in the corner and merked him omg what a feeling
