How to get TvC to work on an american wii?

I’m very intrigued by this game and I want to try it on my Wii, but since it’s only for Japanese release, I want to know what I need in order to get it to work on my Wii.

I'm not trying to get under anyone's skin. 
Just giving some general well known info.

You need something along these lines:

  1. Get Homebrew Channel installed (google wiibrew for instructions).
  2. Put Gecko OS onto an SD card (you’ll also find it at the Homebrew Channel instructions page).
  3. Put the game in the wii, click on the homebrew channel, launch Gecko OS software, enjoy.

u also need this mainly for the dvdx part but running backups of the wii games u bought is very useful just in case they get scratched

so there is no need to mod the wii in order for this to work?

is this considered piracy? because I’m actually planning on importing the game from Japan, so I don’t get how I’d be screwing Capcom over because I’m giving them money. Thanks for the information, really appreciate it! I also wanna know, for those that have done this method, does the game run 100% perfectly or are there some errors/bugs/glitches/stuff that makes the game run awkwardly that I should be aware of?

100 % perfectly , and ur not screwing capcom over. Your still buying the game.

Technically speaking, it is illegal in the U.S. according to the Digital Millenium Copyright Act. You are modifying the console to circumvent software protection.

Is it a stupid law? Sure. Unfortunately it’s still a law.

If you have problems doing all this hombrew stuff, here is the worse case scenario.

  1. Go on playasia.
  2. Spend 300 bucks on a japanease wii.
  3. Spend 70 for TvC.
  4. Wait.
  5. Now you have a second wii for all your japanease needs, then you get TvC.

Of course thats what my friends are doing, while I am waiting for TvC with my nice little homebrew channel.

^well there is another way.

if you have 3.2 firmware update or less. just buy freeloader. problem solved.

It’s a pity that it wasn’t released in the states because supposedly sales aren’t too hot in Japan. Now, if they would have made and updated MvC game who knows. But, whatevs…

With a very few shipment, it actually sold decently.

^ does anyone have the actually numbers. Also if you want to get freeloader but don;t have firmware version 3.2 or lower there are ways of downgrading. check out the site GBAtemp.net, they have tons of tutorials.

Aside from the DS, yeah.

As for ‘why’ the Wii… I don’t know for a fact at all. Just speculating. Any of these could be wrong, and probably are.

  1. Wii doesn’t have SFIV - Give them a good fighting game.
  2. PS3 and 360 have SFIV - Capcom doesn’t want to put a VS up against IV.
  3. It’s on Nintendo arcade hardware - Nintendo may have helped pay for development.
