How to fix arcade stick button? My hori rap 4 L1 button isn’t working at all from the beginning. I tried to change the button but no luck. How to fix it?
One quick posting tip/guide:
Your title is too long, and should not be a copy of what your post body is. A more concise subject/title would be “Hori RAP4 L1 button not working”, and you would post your actual concerns in the body. This is because “Fixing an arcade stick button”, “Hori RAP4 L1 not working” and “changing the button” can be 3 completely independing and unrelated things.
That being said, you haven’t really provided enough information for any conclusion.
- “not working” how? Does it not register at all, register sometimes, or is continually pressed? Try plugging it into a PC and using the Joystick Properties from Windows to figure that out.
- What platform are you using/testing this on?
- When you had “no luck changing the button”, what did you do, and what happened? Were you not able to switch the button, or was the result the same after switching the button?
- Have there been any modifications done to the stick?
- Otherwise, take clear pictures of the insides of the stick and post them here so people can help troubleshoot.
Must be a wire, if a new button doesn’t work. That’s my guess. I’d check the button’s wire quick connect. It could be loose, if that doesn’t seem to be the issue; Then I’d check to see if the wire is split inside it’s casing. You’d notice this by seeing a kink in the wire. Good luck Brometheus.
