i made a video on how to do ibukis kunai vortex since its a little different in ae and i havent seen anyone post anything on youtube so hopefully this helps some people o…,o
That’s great man. I honestly didn’t even know that walking forward and doing a regular jump was in my arsenal…haha. SJ errrrrday.
Early kunai to not crossup to punish FADC is usually not safe against reversals (eg: dp). The safer method is just to simply reaction sweep once you land, assuming you land on the other side. Also, everybody knows jab dp is a bad option against kunai vortex, unless you (really) crossup kunai. Unlike in super, Ryu cannot purposely put himself into a juggle state to prevent you from doing your regular blockstring/combo. The better option is fierce uppercut, but this is easily made whiffed with a very deep kunai, or possibly mp.kunai.
I don’t think there’s really a “true” way of doing Ibuki’s vortex. She has lots of okizeme options and pretty much most of them are in her favor.
Also you make it sound like after watching this video and mastering kunai vortex would be enough. She still has the old fashioned j.LK/j.MK crossup, which can look almost the same as regular vortex setups.
Lastly, I’m not sure that Hakan is a good example since at any time he could have just did ultra 2 and pwned your jumping okizeme game.
Good shit though, I respect the effort.
Haha…I was waiting for that to happen as well.
am just going with what ive learn in matchs O: since i kinda had to learn the vortex on my own (i couldnt find any videos of how to do the ae vortex)
throwing the kunai early is usaully what i do to punish people they try to fadc and it usually works
what i mean by the true vortex is that its a true cross up lol (probably should have put that in there) and the fake out would be a fake cross up
by no means do i think learning the vortex will be enough
in my opinion ibuki doesnt need the vortex to win a match
also at the time of the video i didnt know about all the people who could escape the vortex
i looked at that one ibuki guide and will definitely think twice before trying that against hakan and any other character with a viable escape
i just thought since no one else was making a video i would make one to try and help! :]
Buuuuuump lol, quick question does this vid still apply to AE2012? Or did it change from AE? I
Still applies.
