How to deal with Jin?

Hey there,

I’m pretty new to fightning games, but I still managed to get 5BP with Alisa/Hwoarang on two different accounts (one with Alisa/Hwoarang so I improve my keep-away and the other with Hwoarang/Alisa so I improve my footsies). I try to play to improve instead of playing to win (I try to optimize my damage instead of doing ABC launcher everytime, and so on).

There’s 2-3 characters that really give me problems, but Jin is by far the most annoying one to deal with. Nothing I do seems to work. All they do is j.HK into :

a) Tekken chain into launcher
b) Another j.HK (cross-up)
c) Grab

I sometimes try to raw launcher and it works, but it’s very risky because they often jump again as soon as they land. Also, I try to play offensively so he can’t pressure me, but his Swaying Willow is ridiculous. Also, when cross him up into my blockstring (cr.LP, cr.LP with Alisa and cr.LP, s.MK with Hwoarang), I often get hit by his jabs before I even start my blockstring.

Any general and more character-oriented tips?

If you’re dealing with flow-chart Mishimas (relying on j.HK just like said) the best you can do is to force them to stay on the ground with big anti-airs combos. Position yourself a bit away from him and be ready to sky-rocket him, if you hit them with the right timing you can hit them with a cr.mp into a hk.hunting hawk on the way down

Yeah, I often anti-air him with LK Skyrocket into s.LK s.MK s.MK (Whiff) s.HK xx HK Hunting Hawk with Hwoarang and DES s.HP cr.MP xx Thruster Left with Alisa, but the problem is that both Skyrocket and DES s.HP have a dead zone just on top of the character, which doesn’t really prevent him doing cross-ups.

What’s the safest moment to backdash so I can position myself away from his pressure ? Is cr.MK xx Special Step a good anti-air against him ?
