How to cancel multi lock?

I saw these two videos (below) that Richard actually managed to cancel the multi lock into nothing. I would love to know how to do this so I can avoid misinput this awful move.

You can bold cancel it but the timing is very strict.

I thought you could do regular normals out of multi-lock. If so, it makes sense that you could kara out of a normal m or h.

But how could Richard make Dante to not jump off of a bold cancel move? Well, at least now I know how to cancel it.

You just press any button. M, H, S, any special move that doesn’t use L.

you can kara dash and it will cancel it
