This is, in fact, the correct answer.
Yomi brand yogurt: It slows down time with every bite!
If you are new, try not to say stupid crap about SFIV like:
this thread was entertaining.
Running tournaments is difficult, tiring, and stressful. My golden rule is Always be nice to the Tournament Director and help him out as much as possible. If he tells you to stay, then stay. If he says be there in 5, be there in 5. If he says can you go find XXX, then go find XXX.
I have never had a reason to be mad at a tournament director. If he/she can get through the night with out snapping necks it is a success in my book. Fuck the haters.
Hey what’s up here?
I’m shin, I just moved up Austin Texas, I’m originally from Allentown, PA
I play most everything fight game you got.
My favorite of all time being 3S where I main Akuma.
Current obsessions are playing Akume in SF4 and Bang in Blazblue.
I’ve been competing seriously for about 6 years now.
In a tournament I hosted in 07 in Austin. Out of a braket of Fubarduck, Mopreme, Marn, And KensmastersX(Stone) I somehow ended up tied for 4th with Stone.
I can play with those guys but I don’t get many wins, being among good ppl was my only goal.
I got enough wins in PA during the Alpha days when I was a big fish in a small pond. Being average among them is awesomeness to me.
That’s my intro!
it was too easy
I’ve never seen someone get so many trophies for being a jerk.
I’m never late to matches and when people tell you you’re in a match they’re usually not talking out their ass.
If Julian really needed to do all of his matches before everyone else fine, but yelling at me for no reason and making me want to drop out is shitty and anyone jumping on his side without knowing a thing about it and dragging it out for weeks is pointless.
Yeah, most of the people posting on the subject other than you have probably actually run tournaments for long enough to realize that while what you’re saying is utterly perfectly beautifully valid, it still just doesn’t matter and is something you as a player need to suck up.
Clearly on Take Three last time Julian should have disqualified you. Stick the fuck around (can you really not stick around for that extra twelve minutes?) and get your match in.
We all get that running touranments is equivalent herding cats. We all get that you as a player have “something else to do” right then that means you can’t stick around and wait. There’s got to be a compromise.
JBs - this is really simple actually: you told him his match was up next, he wasn’t there, disqualify him. It’s really simple that way.
If you tell someone that there match is up and they’re not around after that point, it’s on them. This is a beautiful way to quickly resolve the situation and never ever have to worry about this argument again.
This tournament direction lesson comes to you courtesy of JetPhi, who taught me all sorts of nice tricks to simplify running a tournament and staying sane at the same time.
That didn’t happen at all.
He told me I was up, then put in his own match
He told me I was up, I waited through another person’s match, then he put in his own
he did it a 3rd time
then he said I was up after some other people and I finally went upstairs
Do you get yelled at when you’re in tournaments? All I asked was why he kept telling me I’m up then putting in another match.
I see these same people get mad about losing a match, they’d be pissed if someone was actually yelling at them.
I’ve never had a problem with Jason, Frank or Brent. Julian is a dick to me every tournament and I don’t agree with even you.
Without actually getting involved myself, this is the reason why I stopped running tourneys hahah. It’s like it’s almost not even worth it, especially if you’re trying to participate in the tournament yourself. It’s a very frustrating and thankless job.
Thing is, you brought it up. You should have addressed the issue in person after you two had some time to calm the fuck down. Some online bitch fest where you bust out your e-feelings just makes you look silly. I know Julius can go off on peeps, but things usually get resolved since we are all grown ass men.
My fight money
Kung Fu takes a long time to master.
It?ll take more than mad cankles to defeat the mighty Rufus!
Are you filled with regret? Rage? How about rue? I bet you’re filled to the brim with rue, ain?t ya?
I?ll never forget when I first met my girl. It was a rainy day in October and I was on my way home from a fight. Suddenly, this chick came outta no where an? was all like ?Help!? I guess she pulled a dine an? dash, so I beat up the waiter that was chasin? her!
