How often do you select your main character in Player Match?

There’s nothing wrong with picking Dan, but I find it hard to actually take any player seriously when Dan is selected. To me, it’s an indirect way of saying “I am better than you.” Naturally, this isn’t everyone’s intentions, but to me - there’s a lot of blatant posturing. EVERYONE wants to parade around XBL/PSN/PC like they’re amazing. :lol:

I feel the same way. Whenever I see Dan, it’s like they’re mocking me. I ALWAYS start a fight vs Dan with a taunt.

I play random unless it turns out they have a streak going, then I’ll switch to my main, ruin it, and go back to random

I did that too, until I started getting El Feurte waaaaaay too often.

i’m just playing my main, because i’m still learning. not to mention i just got a TE stick, so i’m still learning the game AND relearning how to do all her moves/combos.

I go from worst to best though my alts to my main looking for a even match to the person I’m playing against.

I’m reading a lot of complaints about repeated shoto usage. Although Ryu is my main and my offline crew insists that I stick with him, I can see how it could be an inconvenience for some online players.

If you want me to play a different character, just shoot me a message between matches (preferably after the first). If you don’t have a keyboard handy, just put up your mad face. If I recognize your tag from SRK, I’ll gladly switch to an alt.

I main Fei Long but most times, I pick Abel in player matches. I love his rushdown and his combos are a lot easier to link so he’s a good alternate character for me…I also like using Honda, Ken, and Guile on the side. I always kinda avoid Ryu and Sagat though…those two are chosen wayyyy too much as it is already and plus I hate playing top tier characters. Usually if my opponent is really strong, I switch to Fei Long…eventhough he’s pretty low-mid tier, I just find myself knowing the matchups better with him for some reason. In Championship, I tend to play a lot more light heartedly for some reason…usually if I win 3 or 4 matches already, I don’t really care if I lose my 5th and final match lol. I still get points in the end right? =P

I always start off with my main Guile and play a little cautiously. If after the first match I feel they aren’t at my level I’ll switch to Dan for some fun.

Usually go with one of my alts to see where he stands. If he beats i’ll go with my main but if doesnt i’ll stick with the alt so he can learn the matchup.

Most of the time I play with my main character. I don’t take it too seriously, usually I just wiggle down and try to irritate my opponent, constant like 10 sec straight up jumps with medium kick even if I’m getting hit by fireballs I still continue doing it. Throw fireballs so long that the other player can easily do jump-in combo, I may do it 2-3 times and let the opponent think I don’t know a thing. Or I punish every move with single c.lp and defend like a prick wall (heh) and let the clock run out.

M$ REALLY needs to work on a ‘faster’ message system…doesn’t matter how fast you are, unless you got headphones on and they do to, you can’t say anythign to’em.
